As the transfer window enters its final weeks, Premier League deals – or lack thereof – still have the power to shock.
On Wednesday morning, Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise looked an absolute certainty to join Chelsea, but by the evening the France international had a brand new contract and looks set to stay at Selhurst Park for the next four years.
Palace’s retention of their starlet creates a hole in The Blues’ transfer schedule, and the west London club will soon resume their search, with the likes of Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson in their sights.
Elsewhere, Liverpool came closer to signing Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo, and Arsenal may be gearing up to re-enter the market following the long-term injury of new signing Jurrien Timber.
