A lorry driver is lucky to be alive after his vehicle collided with a freight train at a level crossing in rural NSW.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry told Daily Mail Australia firefighters responded to a call on Wednesday morning that a locomotive and carriages had overturned after a train ran into a lorry.
“The train hit a truck this morning at a level crossing on Canola Way, west of Junee,” he said.
Twelve carriages derailed in the incident, with hazardous material crews called in to siphon the 20,000 liters of diesel fuel in the fuel tanks.
