Tragic video shows four Pepperdine sorority girls killed in Malibu crash laughing together weeks before their deaths as 22-year-old Fraser Michael Bohm is released from custody after just FIVE HOURS despite being charged with manslaughter

A tragic video shows the four Pepperdine sorority sisters who died in an accident in Malibu laughing while eating and drinking just weeks before their deaths.

Fraser Michael Bohm, 22, was charged with manslaughter by gross negligence after four students were mowed down and killed – but he was released.

Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams all died in the crash, which occurred Tuesday evening along California’s Pacific Coast Highway, in an area known locally as ‘Dead Man’s Curve’.

All four were seniors studying at Pepperdine’s Seaver College of Liberal Arts in Malibu, and they were sisters in the Alpha Phi sorority.

Bohm, the 6-foot-tall BMW driver, was arrested following the crash two days after his birthday. He spent just five hours in jail before being released at 7:20 a.m., records show.

His bail was set at $50,000, but payment was not required for his release on October 18 as he was released pending further investigation by police.

The women were walking near a group of parked cars around 8:30 p.m. when the 22-year-old pushed his way into a dark gray four-door sedan.

He ‘lost control’, hitting three of the parked cars, which in turn hit the victims.

Two other people are being treated at a local hospital as a result of the accident.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the driver as Fraser Michael Bohm. A spokesperson appeared to rule out street racing playing a role in the accident as no other car was involved.

Witnesses said Bohm was unharmed after the incident and attempted to leave the scene until onlookers arrested him.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Maria Navarro said alcohol was not believed to be a factor after officers administered a field sobriety test. The city of Malibu said a “speeding motorist” was responsible for the crash.

Officials said a Pepperdine fraternity party was being held in the area. The official said the victims were planning to meet others at the time of the tragedy.

Niamh, Asha and Peyton all lived together at university last year, their social media pages suggested.

The four girls vacationed together, spent time together in their dorm, and often posed together for formal occasions. Tributes poured in for the women.

According to her LinkedIn page, Niamh Rolston also worked as a cheer and gymnastics coach, while Asha Weir was a writing teacher at the school in her spare time.

Peyton Stewart worked as a volunteer at a retirement home and recently interned at TikTok.

Deslyn Williams’ employer paid tribute to her in a heartbreaking Facebook post, saying: ‘When you get the saddest news – 21 miles of devastation – a road of heartache.’ One commenter wrote: ‘Deslyn, RIP my queen.’

The area where the accident occurred is known to locals as ‘Dead Man’s Curve’ due to the high number of incidents in the area.

The fire chief described the accident as ‘terrible’, adding: ‘Unfortunately we have four DOAs, we have four victims who did not survive.

“The sheriff is here and they’re going to do a full-scale investigation to find out what caused this. It’s a difficult situation right now.’

When emergency services arrived on the scene on Wednesday morning, one of the cars involved could still be seen on the side of the highway, with almost the entire rear driver’s side of the vehicle crumpled in the impact.

The crash remains under investigation, but officials have indicated they believe speed was a factor.

Locals were quick to note that the area where the accident occurred has a notorious reputation for speeding, and the tragedy came as no surprise.

“Since Covid, the number of incredible races up and down this highway has increased,” said Malibu resident Joan Zoloth.

‘(It’s) all night long, enough that you can hear it over the waves, and we live on the beach side.

“It’s non-stop,” she added, claiming others in the area have complained about “drag racing” along the stretch of road.

Los Angeles County Fire Captain Sheila Kelliher-Berkoh also noted that speed likely contributed to the tragedy.

‘It is heavy. Everyone is increasing their speed…this is a very densely populated pedestrian area, so it’s one of those scary things where it’s like, ‘Hey people, slow down,'” she said.

Malibu has witnessed 4,000 traffic accidents on its 21-mile PCH in the past decade.

– including more than 1,500 injuries. During the same period, speeding was the most common violation among more than 100,000 traffic tickets, according to the city.

Connie Horton, vice president for student affairs at Pepperdine University, said the victims brought a “unique gift and spirit” to the school.

A prayer service for the victims will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Pepperdine.

“Earlier today we learned that four precious lives that brought joy and light to our campus were suddenly, tragically and incomprehensibly taken from us,” Pepperdine President Jim Gash wrote in a message to the university community.

“As we await further details from the investigation, we are praying for our entire community,” the university said on X.

Fiona Moriarty, a close friend of Deslyn, said in tribute: “You were such a bright and shining star. I can’t believe I’m typing this. My heart is broken.

“You were the life of the party. You always had the best outfits for the occasion and were the best photographer. Your laugh was infectious.

“I wish I could bring you back to life and dance with you on the party bus along PCH, but I know you will be the best vet and take care of all the animals in heaven. RIP angel. Fly high.”

Fiona’s sister Nora, who was in the same student association as the girls, also said: ‘I can’t believe this is real, I don’t want to believe it. Deslyn was the type of person you would run to in a crowded room, she had the ability to make everyone feel special and loved.

‘Her laugh was infectious and she was one of the funniest people I have ever met. She was truly one of a kind.

“There will only be one Deslyn.

‘The world lost four irreplaceable souls, but heaven gained four beautiful angels.’

One of the girls’ devastated friends, Rianna Dizon, wrote in a heartfelt statement online: ‘The past 24 hours have been heartbreaking and devastating. there will never be enough words to describe the beautiful souls we have lost.

“I don’t know how I got lucky enough to be friends with these women, but I will thank God for that every day.

“Deslyn, I have never met anyone as charismatic and passionate as you. you made everyone in every room feel welcome, heard, seen and loved. I will forever cherish all the wonderful memories we have together and I will never forget your love for Jeni’s ice cream.

“Thank you for always making me laugh and for being everyone’s (literally everyone’s) favorite hype woman. I love you so much.

‘Asha- sweet asha with the kindest heart. I will never forget how much we laughed together in the cheesecake factory and how pure and genuine you were to all your friends. I will always love you.

‘Niamh, you were like another little sister to me. so stylish, so kind and a loyal friend. Watching your friendship blossom with my sweet Aubrey made me so happy. you two are twin souls. I promise to take care of Aubrey and I love you beyond words.

“Peyton, although I never had the honor of becoming as close to you as my other sisters, it is clear that you are so dearly loved by so many that I will never forget your smile and your sweet hugs when I see you saw. I love you Angel.

“Although what happened to you was something unfair and unimaginable, I take comfort in knowing that you are all together. Please continue to pray for these beautiful women and their families.

“I thank my sisterhood Pepperdine Alpha Phi for introducing me to these angels and I will forever hold them close to my heart.”
