Tragedy strikes family for a second time when murdered toddler’s mother is named as victim of a horror attack

For the second time, tragedy has struck a family in Perth after the mother of a murdered toddler, Robert Bodney, was named as the victim of a horrific road accident.
Kerry Bodney, 31, has been identified as the passenger who died on Wednesday morning in an accident in Balga, north Perth, that left four other passengers injured.
Ms Bodney’s two-year-old son, Robert, was shaken to death by her then-partner in 2012.

Wayne Murray Narkle was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison in 2014 and warned he may never be released.
The accident happened around 11:40 am on Wednesday on Mirrabooka Avenue near Beach Road in Balga.
Police say Ms. Bodney was a passenger in a black BMW sedan traveling east on Beach Road when it collided with another car traveling south on Mirrabooka Avenue.
Friends and family took to social media to share tributes after hearing the tragic news.
“I can’t believe such a loving, beautiful person is taken so tragically and heartbreakingly,” Brenda Turvey wrote.
“I hope your son is waiting at the gate with open arms to greet his mother.”

In a creepy twist, Mrs. Bodney had posted on social media just two weeks ago that she had been in yet another car accident.
Her son Robert was murdered in 2012 by her then-partner Wayne Murray Narkle.

Prosecutor Justin Whalley said Narkle believed Robert was “too clingy and needy for men, and more resilient.”
Narkle’s lawyer, Simon Watters, told the court that his client was under the influence of heroin at the time he had a momentary “loss of self-control” and “almost immediately regretted” his actions.
The child’s cause of death was a head injury. He also had fractures on both arms.
“I just want to get better, be a mother again someday and be happy,” Narkle reportedly said after Narkle was sentenced.
