Tragic fire at Burpengary Retirement Village, Brisbane: 83-year-old man found dead
An 83-year-old man has been found dead after a fire destroyed a retirement village near Brisbane.
Emergency services rushed to the Burpengary Pines retirement village in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region about 9pm on Monday.
Upon arrival, they were confronted with a fierce fire that had already engulfed the man’s unit, leaving nothing but ash.

Emergency services rushed to the Burpengary Pines retirement village in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region about 9pm on Monday.
Two cars were reduced to rubble, along with the man’s personal belongings.
Investigators and detectives will painstakingly sift through the rubble to determine the cause of the tragic event.
Three adjacent units were also damaged by the fire.
Other residents and staff had to be evacuated. The fire was extinguished around 11 p.m.
