Tragic end to search for missing young Australian woman
The search for a young Australian woman who went missing from her home more than three days ago has had a tragic outcome.
ACT Police have asked for the public’s help in locating 26-year-old Mathilde Innes Pouliquin, who was last seen in the Canberra suburb of Dixon on Friday, September 27.
Police asked Canberrans to be on the lookout for Ms Pouliquin, who was described as Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build and dark curly hair.
There were major concerns for her well-being.
It is not known what clothing she was wearing when she left her home, but she was driving a red/maroon Volkswagen Golf hatchback with ACT registration YOP57Z.
The car is distinctive because it has extensive hail damage.
In a tragic update on Sunday evening, police confirmed the body of a woman reported missing in the nation’s capital was found near a creek in NSW.
The woman was found around 11.45am on Sunday near Wells Creek in Berrima, a small rural town in the state’s southern highlands.
The search for 26-year-old Mathilde Innes Pouliquin (pictured) has had a tragic outcome, who last left her home in Canberra on Friday.
“At this time, investigators believe it is the missing 26-year-old woman (Ms. Pouliquin) that we reported on on Friday and Saturday,” police said.
“There are no suspicious circumstances that the police are taking into account.”
A report outlining the circumstances of the woman’s death will be prepared by police for the coroner.
