Tragic 911 call reveals Arizona teen’s final words after intruder broke into the apartment and shot her dead
The final words of a teenager who was shot dead in her Arizona apartment two years ago have been released, and her parents are now intensifying their search for her killer.
Rachel Hansen was 19 years old and engaged to be married when the suspect broke into her home in the early morning of June 4, 2022, and shot her.
Now her final words have been released in a redacted police report given to her. Family from Arizona as part of an effort to bring the case back into focus and track down the shooter.
“I was shot. Someone came in and shot me,” Rachel told a 911 dispatcher as she bled to death from a single gunshot wound in her final moments.
“Please, please, please,” she said. “I’m bleeding, I’m bleeding.”

A dispatcher urged Rachel to stay on the line, adding, “Do you have a clean cloth over there that you can apply pressure to? Is there someone with you?”
The teenager responded that she was alone and that the shooter had left.
“Do you have a piece of cloth, a shirt or a towel handy?” the dispatcher asks, to which the teen replies “no.”
“There’s nothing around? Rachel, I need you to talk to me, okay?” the dispatcher said.
“I can’t do that,” the teenager said before succumbing to her injuries.
You hear the police and fire department rushing to find Rachel’s address, arriving about four and a half minutes later.

Gilbert police responded to the call from Rachel’s apartment in a gated complex on the outskirts of southeast Phoenix at 2 a.m. on June 4, 2022.
The department said in a press release at the time she suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Since then, Rachel’s family has been waiting with a broken heart for answers.
On the second anniversary of her murder this year, they launched a fundraising to take matters into their own hands and hire a private detective.
“Rachel did not deserve what happened to her, and her family and friends now feel powerless with the limited options they have,” the fundraiser said.
“We are concerned that the Gilbert Police Department has exhausted all resources as the case was referred to Silent Witness with no results.”

Silent Witness also offers a reward of up to $7,000 to anyone with information about the murder.
The teen’s father, Todd Hansen, also said he distributed 500 flyers about his daughter’s murder in hopes that someone with information would come forward.
“Somehow, Someone, Somewhere knows Something about my sweet daughter Rachel Hansen,” he wrote on Facebook on August 25.
“Maybe it would help us if we could get a little bit of clarity on how and why she died,” he added in a recent interview with KNXV.
“For a 19-year-old girl to be murdered in the town of Gilbert was unheard of.”
“It feels like it happened yesterday,” added Rachel’s mother, Kim Hansen.
“It’s really unbelievable. I feel like two years have gone by and we should have had something, but we have nothing.”

In another interview with Arizona Family, Kim shared that her daughter had just gotten engaged and was looking forward to a happy future.
“She was so excited. They were both so excited. Young love, and they were just starting their lives,” she said.
Rachel was adopted at the age of six and was an avid horse trainer who wanted to turn her passion into a career.
Gilbert Police have released a statement to Law and Crime on the anniversary of Rachel’s death this year.
“As we approach two years since the unfortunate murder of Rachel Hansen, this case remains a top priority for the Gilbert Police Department,” the agency said.
“We understand how difficult lengthy investigations can be for the families and friends of victims, as well as for our community.
“We want to stress that this is an extremely sensitive matter and we must ensure that any information we share does not compromise our investigation or our determination to bring justice to Rachel and her loved ones.”
