Terrifying images have emerged of a man threatening a motorist with a large pickaxe.
A confrontational video taken by a passing driver showed the man, wearing an orange hi-vis shirt and dark trousers, brandishing the rusty brown pickaxe at an intersection in Albert Park, in Melbourne’s south, on Saturday.
He started talking aggressively to the driver while waving the tools.
Terrifying video footage captured the moment a tradie (pictured) threatened a motorist with a pickaxe at an intersection on Queens Road in Melbourne’s Albert Park on Saturday.
Moments later, the man tapped the roof of the vehicle with the ax and then tapped the window on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
He continued his tirade by pointing at the driver and shouting.
Radio presenter Jacqui Felgate expressed her outrage at the incident 3AW on Tuesday afternoon.
She said the driver in the signal overtook another driver before confronting the motorist with the pickaxe.
“Imagine if there were children in the backseat of that car,” she said.
“I think it’s scary and threatening enough as an adult, let alone when children witness the person’s behavior.”

Glenn Weir, deputy commissioner for highway policing at Victoria Police, told the program officers had been made aware of the incident.
‘We have spoken to the motorist who was the victim of this [incident] who doesn’t want to take action,” Commissioner Weir said.
‘The behavior is completely unacceptable. I don’t know what world that guy lives in where he finds that acceptable behavior.”
He said police would continue to make inquiries with the motorist and urged drivers who witness similar incidents to contact police in the first instance rather than uploading videos to social media.
