Trader Joe’s mania as new $3.99 product is being resold on eBay for $100
Trader Joe’s mania is once again gripping the country as a simple $4 insulated tote bag is being resold on eBay for as much as $100.
The supermarket chain launched the Mini Insulated Tote in its stores on June 4 for the modest price of $3.99, but it has already sold out as social media users have been sent into a frenzy.
The product is completely sold out at several stores in California, according to SF Gate.
The item, available in teal or magenta, will be available at all U.S. Trader Joe’s locations for a limited time.

The retail chain sells mini insulated containers in magenta and teal. Consumers who purchased the bags are now reselling them on eBay for up to $100
The mini insulated bins are not available for purchase on the store’s website, but an Instagram user who runs a Trader Joe’s fan page wrote in a June 2 post after that they ‘pop up’ in the shops.
The product is similar to Trader Joe’s large reusable insulated bag which retails online or in-store for $7.99.
The 1.5 gallon tote bag is good for consumers who need a bag to keep their food and drinks hot or cold.
However, it is also good for eBay sellers who want to make up to $100.
One eBay user shipping items from New York mention the magenta and teal insulated mini bins on the website for $99.99, which also come with free stickers.
Same person made another eBay listing with the magenta and teal insulated mini bins with stickers, except they’re willing to sell them for $79.99.
The bags have proven popular due to sales at select stores, but their resale prices are comparable to the intense online price increases of Trader Joe’s tote bags released in March 2024.

Less than a week later, customers were selling them on online marketplaces.
The small bags, available in red, blue, yellow and green, were on sale at Trader Joe’s for just $2.99.
The canvas bags caused a stir on social media, and on March 10, hundreds of them were listed on eBay, with prices ranging from $5 to nearly $500.
“Our Mini Canvas Tote Bags definitely sold faster than we expected,” Trader Joe’s spokesperson Nakia Rohde told SFGate.
‘Our customers, in our stores, are our focus; we do not condone the resale of our products anywhere.”
Coincidentally, the eBay user who has two listings for insulated mini bins is also selling one yellow mini canvas tote bag for $29.50.
Instagram users have since left comments about the bag and its availability.

One Instagram called the insulated bins “the next big thing” at Trader Joe’s and compared the purchasing line to that on Black Friday.
“There was a line at 8am this morning and it was sold out at 8:06am. We didn’t get one,” she wrote.
Another commenter from California claimed that the mini insulated bins were “all sold out” 10 minutes after the store opened.
‘My store sold out within 15 minutes. Before the store opened, there were forty people in line. So many shares on eBay at high prices,” one commenter wrote on Instagram yesterday.
