Tracy Grimshaw reveals her next move after her last day on A Current Affair and hints she may return to TV in 2014

Tracy Grimshaw’s final episode of A Current Affair airs Thursday night, and the veteran journalist has no plans to return to work anytime soon.

The TV presenter, 62, discussed her plans after 16 years on the hit investigative news show during an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O show on Wednesday, confirming she was taking a well-deserved one-year break.

She said she wants to “reset her work-life balance to pure life next year” and is taking 2023 completely off work.

When Kyle Sandilands asked the TV star if she would move on to The Project or another news show, Tracy said it wasn’t on the line for her just yet.

‘I have a year off and do nothing for a whole year. I’m resetting my work-life balance to pure living next year,” she said.

“But then you never know what I could do in 2024.”

It comes a week after the former Today presenter was spotted arriving in Melbourne to film her ‘very special hometown episode’, which aired live last Wednesday.

Tracy announced she was quitting A Current Affair during one of its Monday night episodes in September.

“Normally we would tell you now what to expect tomorrow night, but lately I’ve personally been thinking about the longer term, and I have some news I want you to hear from me before you hear it from anyone else,” said them during the announcement.

She continued, “I’ve decided to wrap up this year with A Current Affair. It’s been a big decision and before the gossip websites start telling you nonsense, I want you to know that it was only my decision and I’m not getting pushed out by the boys’ club because I’m too old.’

Some rumors say veteran 2GB and Nine News presenter Deborah Knight will take her place in A Current Affair.

However, Kyle Sandilands seemed to confirm it was Allison Langdon from the Today show when he interviewed Tracy on his radio show on Wednesday.

When Kyle Sandilands asked the TV host if she’d go to The Project or another news show, Tracy said it wasn’t on the line for her just yet.

Allison also awkwardly dodged questions about her rumored move to A Current Affair while interviewing Kyle live on air last week.

The 43-year-old had just returned to Today that morning after taking more than a week off.

She shifted uncomfortably in her seat as she refused to confirm or deny the speculation — despite the shock jock repeatedly pressing for an answer.

‘I have a year off and do nothing for a whole year. I’m resetting my work-life balance to pure living next year,” she said. ‘But yes, you never know what I’m going to do in 2024’
