Tracy Beaker star is working in an Odeon Cinemas nearly 20 years after finding fame on smash hit CBBC show – can YOU guess who it is?

Tracy Beaker star Deepal Parmar looks worlds away from the time she rose to fame.

The former actress, now 36, played teenager Chantal Wellard in the hit CBBC drama series The Story of Tracy Beaker from 2004 to 2005.

But almost two decades later, Deepal now works for Odeon Cinema Group and has done so for three years.

According to her LinkedIn, she works as a Sales Manager for the cinema giant and can still be seen on the red carpet at premieres.

In an Instagram post, she can be seen in a glittering dress at the launch of the Paul Mescal blockbuster Gladiator II.

In another, she wears a crisp white suit for a mirror selfie as she smiles ahead of a night out.

The Story of Tracy Beaker first aired on the Children’s Network from 2002 to 2005 and was adapted from Dame Jacqueline Wilson’s powerful book series.

It focused on a group of children growing up in care and featured a range of child actors.

Deepal arrived at the start of the fourth series with her younger half-siblings Roxy and Rio, and she was the only one of the trio to have contact with her father.

She left early in the fifth series in an episode titled Chantal’s Goodbye, where her character decided to live with her father.

Deepal has also appeared in Casualty and Doctors, and her most recent role is as Amandeep in the 2024 short film The Visit.

After the end of the series, lead actress Dani Harmer starred in the sitcom Dani’s House for the same network and signed a £3 million recording contract with Decca.

The album never came to fruition and she returned to her signature role for Tracy Beaker Returns in 2010, which helped launch the now critically acclaimed actress’ career Mia McKenna-Bruce.

In 2012, Dani took part in Strictly Come Dancing and the following year she once again quit her role as Tracy.

The spin-off continued as The Dumping Ground and the twelfth series aired in October 2024.

Dani returned to the role for further spin-offs My Mum Tracy Beaker and The Beaker Girls from 2021 to 2023.

Dani also regularly appears in pantomime, this year starring in Beauty And The Beast in York.

In 2024, she started a YouTube series in which she and former co-star Chelsie Padley, who left showbiz to focus on a fitness career, interview their castmates.
