The Hamer Toyota dealership in Los Angeles, where Katharine McPhee’s nanny was killed in a shocking car accident, issued a statement Thursday in response to the tragedy.

The dealership turned into a horrific scene after an 84-year-old woman crashed her SUV into the customer reception when she apparently hit the gas instead of the brake.

Yadira Calito, 55, a babysitter for McPhee’s son, was hit by the car last week and then dragged 20 feet, according to TMZ.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Yadira’s family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time,” Megan Maybee, the dealer’s communications director, said in a statement to Us weekly. “Losing such a vibrant life in such tragic circumstances is a heavy burden to bear, and we share in their grief.”

Despite causing a fatal accident, which also injured two dealer employees, police reportedly failed to arrest the elderly driver.
