Tourist ‘is raped by waiter on board cruise ship off Mallorca’
A female tourist was allegedly raped by a waiter on board a cruise ship in Mallorca.
The waiter, reportedly a 25-year-old man from India, allegedly attacked the woman on board the cruise ship as it sailed towards Palma, the capital of Mallorca.
The Guardia Civil arrested the suspect as soon as the ship docked in port.
The waiter has already appeared in court and been released.
The alleged rape is said to have taken place on Friday, although details have only just been released.

The name of the ship has not been released, nor have any details about the victim, so her age and nationality are unknown.
The suspect worked as a waiter on the ship. It is claimed he met the foreign tourist and 'they hit it off'.
The Spanish press says they arranged to meet at the woman's cabin as soon as he finished work.
The girl initially agreed to sex, but refused to do so without protection. The man then allegedly forced himself on her and raped her.
The victim reported the attack to the ship's crew, who in turn informed the Guardia Civil. Officers were waiting in Palma when the ship arrived and the man was arrested.
Two days later he appeared in court, where a judge upheld the charges and granted the man bail, but with charges.
