Disgusting moment tourist ‘drops a COCKROACH into her food’ to avoid paying restaurant bill
This is the disgusting moment a tourist was caught on camera throwing a cockroach into her plate to avoid paying the bill for her restaurant meal.
Footage shows the woman sitting at the head of a table at Puerto Chale Restaurant in Guadalajara, Mexico, before making her devious move.
The table is full of food and the woman sitting at the table is eating something while chatting with three other people at the table.
After a few moments, the woman can be seen quickly looking around, then sliding her hand under the table and pulling out a small bowl.
She quickly shakes her hand over her plate and then goes back to her meal and conversation as if nothing had happened. Then something falls onto the plate that is probably a dead cockroach.

After making her sly move, she raised her hands to her face to appear shocked and disgusted at the insect in her food.
She was seen laughing at her party after a waitress returned the food to the kitchen
The woman asks the man sitting next to her to pass her a fork and she continues eating without making a scene.
After briefly poking her fork into her plate of food, she pretends to notice something in her food and brings her hand to her mouth to express her shock and disgust.
A waitress runs over to the seemingly upset customer as the woman points out the insect in her food.
We see her gagging and making vomiting gestures as the unsuspecting waitress grabs the plate from the table and puts it back in the kitchen.
The woman wipes her mouth with a handkerchief and her theatrical performance seems to be over, because she starts talking to the table companions again.
The man next to her grins and slides her another plate of food, convinced they’ve gotten away with their sneaky antics.
A moment later, the man looks up and makes direct eye contact with the camera lens of the surveillance camera system, warning the woman that they may have been filmed the entire time.
She turns her head with a concerned expression on her face and also looks at the camera before continuing her conversation and eventually filing a complaint at the cash register.
According to the owner of the Mexican restaurant, the bill was waived because of the complaint.
They explained that the woman threatened to cause a scandal if they made her pay for the food.
She soon realized that there was a security camera hanging above her head
The woman continued eating before filing a complaint and getting her money back
However, because restaurant workers follow strict health protocols and check every dish as it leaves the kitchen, they suspected foul play.
Once the group left the building, the manager reviewed the CCTV footage and discovered that the family had likely staged a deliberate scam.
They shared the video of the “unfortunate incident” on their TikTok page, where it went viral with 3.3 million views and thousands of comments.
A local resident said: ‘What a horrible family, what disgusting people, from young to old.’
Another wrote: ‘I wonder how many other places they’ve done this?’
A third commented: ‘If the restaurant let them leave without paying, that’s their fault. They should have reviewed the footage straight away.’
After the video went viral on TikTok, users accused the same family of scamming other restaurants in Guadalajara with similar tactics.
Some locals have even nicknamed the woman ‘Roach Lady’ for her alleged stunts to avoid paying the bill.
It is unclear whether the restaurant owner has filed a complaint against the family.
