Tottenham’s final home game of the season could give an eerie feeling on Tuesday evening because it was not a full house.
Spurs welcome Manchester City into the Premier League and need a win to keep their apparent top four hopes alive.
However, a win or a draw would also pose an unthinkable problem for Tottenham fans: giving Arsenal the initiative in the title race over City going into Sunday’s final round.
League leaders Arsenal are currently one point ahead of City, but Pep Guardiola’s side still have a game in hand, Tuesday’s trip to Tottenham.
And it seems the outcome of Arsenal becoming English champions for the first time in 20 years could have played a role in the large number of places available for Tuesday’s match.
For Tottenham’s match with Man City, tickets are available in the majority of all blocks (pink dots).

There are also multiple seats available in the club’s South Stand – their noisiest stand
Some fans have suggested they want to lose so City can go above Arsenal in the title race
Spurs know that beating City will keep them in the top four against Aston Villa
Arsenal are in pole position for the title if Spurs manage to take three points from City
Tottenham’s ticket exchange website shows tickets available in most of all their blocks for the match on Tuesday afternoon.
There are several available within each block – with their noisy South Stand no exception.
A video circulated on social media on Monday showing the size of the available seats.
“City will think it’s a half-empty home game and all city support,” joked one Tottenham fan on X.
Another wrote: ‘I think we’ll sit in the front row so we can rub shoulders [Erling] Haaland’s head after he scores.’
Despite these potential prospects, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted that ‘100 percent’ of Tottenham fans want their team to beat Manchester City even if it gives Arsenal the title, and wanting to lose under any circumstances ‘is not true sport is all about’.
He expects the Spurs crowd to create a passionate and positive mood at the final home game of the season and put the team’s long-term progress ahead of North London gloating.
“I understand the rivalry, I was part of one of the biggest in the world in recent years with Celtic and Rangers,” Postecoglou said. ‘But I will never understand if someone wants their own team to lose.
‘That’s not what sport is about. That’s not what I like about the game. What I especially love is the competitiveness, challenging yourself to beat someone and come out successful. Everything beyond that has nothing to do with sports.
Ange Postecoglou believes 100 percent of Tottenham fans want them to beat Man City
‘If other people want to deal with it in such a way that they take pleasure in the misery of others, then that is not how I have lived my life and how I perceive my role. My role is to deliver success to this football club and I know that 100 percent of Spurs supporters want us to win, be successful and win trophies.
“Winning will help us bring joy to 100 percent of Spurs supporters.”
