‘You could get Pep or Klopp and they’d STILL be playing c**p football’: Tottenham ‘need to change from top to bottom’ after sacking Cristian Stellini, says Jermaine Pennant, who insists the club’s ‘Daniel Levy’ take out’ to be successful

- He said Daniel Levy had to leave the club to move forward
Tottenham would still be a failure if a top manager like Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp were in charge, claims Jermaine Pennant – who said the club needs to change ‘from top to bottom’.
Spurs’ season sank into further disarray on Monday night after the club sacked interim boss Cristian Stellini – Antonio Conte’s former assistant – after their humiliating 6-1 defeat at Newcastle, with Ryan Mason in charge for the rest of the season.
The club has struggled to carve out a path to success despite hiring some high-profile managers such as Jose Mourinho and Conte – who was himself sacked last month after ranting about the club’s state and players’ attitudes.
But former Liverpool star Pennant said Spurs would still struggle to compete even if Guardiola or Klopp were in charge – as he stressed chairman Daniel Levy had to leave for the club to progress.
“I think you should get Levy out,” said the former winger talkSport.
Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp couldn’t fix Spurs’ mess, says Jermaine Pennant
Former Liverpool winger said Tottenham had to ‘change from top to bottom’
“They’ve had top managers who have won Champions Leagues and Premier League titles.
Conte, Mourinho and even them are struggling. You have Poch, who is a great manager, and even he struggled.
“So no matter who you bring in, you could get Pep, you could get Klopp, you could be the best in the league.”
“What they have now, what the manager you get now, will do nothing.
“It will be the same old Spurs, start well, end with bad football and leave the league.
“They need to change from the top down – Levy needs to go, 100 percent.
“You can’t fix anything if you don’t go to the root source.”
Tottenham are in disarray after sacking Cristian Stellini following their 6-1 defeat to Newcastle – with Ryan Mason taking over the team for the remainder of the season
Pennant claimed that Tottenham will not be successful until chairman Daniel Levy leaves
Stellini only lasted four games as Spurs caretaker and Mason will now be trusted to guide the team for the remaining six games.
Champions League football looks to be in high demand for Spurs after Newcastle led them by six points with a thumping win – and big games against Manchester United and Liverpool are coming up for Mason.
In a scathing statement on Monday night, Levy took responsibility for the current chaos at the club, saying the demolition at Newcastle was ‘completely unacceptable’.
“Sunday’s performance against Newcastle was completely unacceptable,” Levy wrote in a statement Monday night.
“It was horrible to watch. We can think of many reasons why it happened and while myself, the board, the coaches and players all have to take collective responsibility, the responsibility ultimately rests with me.

Cristian will resign from his current position along with his coaching staff.
Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I would like to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have behaved during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff the best.’
Ryan Mason will take over as head coach effective immediately. Ryan knows the club and the players well. We will provide more information on his coaching staff in due course,” Levy’s statement continued.
“I met with the players’ committee today – the team is determined to work together to finish the season as strong as possible.
“It is clear to all of us that we must deliver achievements that deserve your tremendous support.”
