Tottenham star Rodrigo Bentancur spotted throwing two bottles into the crowd… as Uruguay players clash with ‘drunken’ Colombian fans in post-match brawl at Copa America

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was spotted throwing bottles at the crowd during an extraordinary post-match brawl after Uruguay were knocked out of the Copa América on Wednesday night.

Uruguay’s players took matters into their own hands just minutes after their 1-0 semi-final defeat to Colombia in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, along with team-mates Jose Gimenez and Ronald Araujo, were among those who jumped into the crowd as scenes broke out after the final whistle.

Gimenez said on TV after the incident where it was reported that the players’ families, who were sitting close to the fans, were swarmed by drunken supporters and that they came to their defense.

Footage shows Bentancur throwing two bottles into the crowd, which is part of the unsavory scenes in Charlotte.
