Tottenham have parted ways with four stars at the end of their contract.

Two of them have already secured moves to other clubs, while the other two will become free agents.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are evolving as they prepare for his second season at the club after finishing fifth in his debut season in the Premier League.

Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga will not be part of that next phase of development.

“We thank Eric, Ivan, Ryan and Japhet for their services to the club and wish them all the best for the future,” the club said in a statement.

Dier was loaned to Bayern Munich in January and in March he was given an option to make his transfer permanent after reaching a playing quota.

He made 20 appearances for Bayern in an impressive loan spell, knocking out centre-backs Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano and becoming a regular in Thomas Tuchel’s team.

The 30-year-old will now spend time under the tutelage of Vincent Kompany, who signed a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena after leaving Burnley.

Perisic has now moved to boyhood club Hajduk Split, after initially being loaned out in January.

The 34-year-old signed for Croatia with the intention of leaving permanently and is now starting a one-year contract there.

A serious anterior cruciate ligament injury meant he played just six games for Spurs in the final half of the season.

Sessegnon signed for Spurs for £25 million from Fulham in 2019, but the left-sided player made just 57 appearances in five seasons during which he was injured.

Once seen as one of the brightest young talents in English football, Sessegnon has managed just one appearance this season due to injury but is hoping to rebuild elsewhere.

Youth player Japhet Tanganga has seen his progress stagnate due to injury, but looks to build on a loan spell at Millwall

As for Tanganga, he has seen his first-team prospects decline despite an initially promising start when Mauricio Pochettino signed him from the academy in 2019.

The defender made 50 appearances for Spurs, but spent the entire season on loan, first at Augsburg, where he did not play due to injury, and later at Millwall.

Spurs have also released a number of younger stars.

Charlie Sayers leaves the development team alongside Billy Heaps.

Under-18s Kieran Morgan and Han Willhoft-King – who had been at the club since the under-8s and under-7s respectively – have also been released.

“We thank Charlie, Billy, Kieran, Han and their families for their hard work and dedication to our Academy and wish them all the best for the future,” Tottenham said.
