Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele will both leave Tottenham and join Galatasaray.

27-year-old Sánchez arrived at Tottenham in 2017 for a fee of up to £42 million, but struggled to convince in north London.

He is leaving for a definitive contract, with the Colombian defender receiving interest from several clubs this summer, including Spartak Moscow and Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Ndombele – Spurs’ record signing after joining Lyon for £55 million in 2019 – will be loaned out after spending similar temporary spells at both Lyon and Napoli over the past two seasons.

Neither player was part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans this year, although Sanchez made two appearances but Ndombele has failed to even make a match selection.

Cruel for Sánchez: His last action in a Tottenham shirt will be his missed penalty in a shootout defeat in the Carabao Cup against Fulham last week.

The 54-time Colombia international was embarrassed by his own fans last season when he lasted just 23 minutes before being sent off in a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth.

After originally replacing Clement Lenglet in the 35th minute, Sanchez committed two fouls as the Cherries raced to a 2-1 lead and Spurs fans let out a mixture of boos and tongue-in-cheek cheers as he left the field, as many of his touches of the ball were also booed.

The 27-year-old failed to live up to his fees in six seasons in North London, making more than 30 Premier League appearances in just one season during his debut season.

In Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge, Sanchez appeared to have earned a place in the Italian’s plans at the club, starting three of Spurs’ first five Premier League games.

Sánchez’s spell in the team would ultimately prove to be short-lived, however, as he would only make five more Premier League starts as the club failed to secure European football for the first time since 2010.

Nevertheless, he still made over 200 appearances in his six years with the club.

Ndombele has struggled badly in North London since his club record transfer, with the fee paid by Spurs at the time ironically surpassing Sanchez – the club’s previous biggest spend.

Galatasaray won the Turkish Super Lig for the first time in four years in 2022/23 and are preparing to enter the Champions League, where they are drawn in a group with Bayern Munich, Man United and FC Copenhagen.

Their squad includes former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha and ex-Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
