- Feyenoord boss Arne Slot – who has just become national champion – is a strong contender
Tottenham are investigating their interest in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.
Spurs are looking for their next head coach and Mail Sport understands that Slot is developing as a strong candidate after it emerged last week that Julian Naglesmann would not be the club’s next boss.
Tottenham are adamant there is no top target, but Slot is high in the minds of the Spurs hierarchy.
Mail Sport revealed yesterday that Feyenoord Slot wants to offer a new contract worth around £2.5 million a year to commit their highly regarded coach.
Slot, who would cost £6 million in damages, knows he can earn much more at Spurs.

Spurs chief Daniel Levy has plenty of work to do as he is also looking for a new sporting director
Earlier on Wednesday, Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso – who has been linked to the Spurs role – ruled himself out.
“I’m happy with the team and the club here,” the former Real Madrid and Liverpool midfielder told BILD.
“I’m not worried about my future,” before confirming he would still be with the German side next season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are interested in former Bayer Leverkusen manager Tim Steidten as chairman Daniel Levy is looking for the club’s next sporting director.
As we revealed last week, Roma’s Tiago Pinto is a contender for the role, while Eintracht Frankfurt’s Markus Krosche has also been discussed but seen as an outsider, as is Johannes Spors.
Brentford’s Lee Dykes is deemed ineligible for the role.
