Tottenham are keeping an eye on David Raya as they search for a replacement for Hugo Lloris, according to a report.

The 2018 World Cup-winning captain and 2022 finalist, Lloris, has just turned 36 having played for Spurs since 2012, and is increasingly making mistakes in his game despite the French international signing a contract extension for two years last year.

According to The TelegraphRaya tops the north London club’s list of long-term replacements for Lloris, who could leave Tottenham soon, and a deal for the Spaniard could be finalized as early as the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.

The club is ready to start looking for a long-term replacement for Frenchman Hugo Lloris.

Spurs are not believed to be looking to add a goalkeeper to their range in the January window, with the club and manager Antonio Conte happy to settle for Lloris for now.

A plan will be set out to replace Lloris, who has made 439 appearances for the club since joining from Lyon for £11m, with backup goalkeeper Fraser Forster also reaching the end of his career at 34.

Young goalies Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman, both 24, are unlikely to be ready to make the move in time.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is said to be happy with Lloris despite his recent mistakes

Raya has shone in a Brentford side that has impressed in the Premier League under Thomas Frank for the past two years.

Raya has made 141 appearances for Brentford since joining the club from Blackburn in 2019, and has become a key member of a Bees side that continues to impress in the Premier League under Thomas Frank.

At just 27 years old, Raya’s best years may be yet to come and he was in the Spain squad for the World Cup in Qatar, having won two caps for his country.

He only has 18 months left on his contract at Brentford, and if he refuses to sign a new contract, negotiations could be easier for Tottenham in the summer.

Jordan Pickford is reportedly another option for Tottenham, although they will focus on bringing in a full-back and attacking player in the January window.
