Timo Werner has completed his move to Tottenham, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday.
The Red Bull Leipzig star arrived in London on Sunday to finalize terms with Tottenham and undergo a medical after being cleared to travel from his parent club’s training camp in La Manga, Spain.
Spurs officially announced the move in a statement on Tuesday evening, which read: ‘We are delighted to announce the signing of Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig, subject to international clearance.
The German international will be loaned to Club until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer. He will wear the number 16 shirt.”
Negotiations over the structure of the transfer were completed on Saturday, with Tottenham agreeing to pay Werner’s estimated £4.5 million salary in full for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham, who play Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, have the option to sign Werner permanently this summer for a fee of £14.5 million.
Werner returns to the Premier League for the first time since leaving Chelsea, having struggled to match the top-scorer form he showed during his first spell at Leipzig.
Werner managed to score just 10 goals in 56 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League
The 27-year-old star, who joined Chelsea for £47.5 million in 2020, has struggled to adapt to the Premier League after a series of missed opportunities saw his confidence depleted.
He returns to England with a point to prove at Tottenham, who sit fifth in the top flight under Ange Postecoglou despite a host of absentees in attack.
Summer signing James Maddison is still injured, while star player Son Heung-min will be unavailable for around a month as he represents South Korea in the Asia Cup.
Meanwhile, Alejo Veliz has suffered a knee injury and there is interest from Saudi Arabia for Richarlison, although that is likely to be rebuffed until the summer.
The move has raised eyebrows as Werner’s spell at bitter rivals Chelsea was not seen as a success. However, Postecoglou sees Werner’s pace and selfless work ethic as ideal qualities to suit his tactics and his squad.
Werner only managed to score just ten goals in 56 Premier League games for Chelsea, frustrating fans with a lack of potential in front of goal.
Since returning to Leipzig, the German has scored 18 goals in 46 games in all competitions.
Although his return started promisingly, he has since struggled to get a starting spot, with Leipzig adding Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda to their squad.
Now he hopes he can rebuild his reputation under Postecoglou and earn a recall to the German national team.

By luring Werner on loan and offering Postecoglou more attacking options, Tottenham can now spend their transfer budget on a new centre-back, which was considered a priority before January.
Spurs were close to agreeing a deal for Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin after submitting a £25m bid this week, but Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are now trying to hijack the transfer with a competitive bid of their own.
