Tottenham ‘closely watching Dominic Solanke after cooling down interest in alternative Premier League striker’… as they consider a summer move for the Bournemouth star

Tottenham are reportedly keeping a close eye on Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as the club continues to look for a replacement for Harry Kane.

The club have not signed a replacement for the England captain since his £100million move to Bayern Munich.

Other players have emerged this season, with the club performing significantly better under Ande Postecoglou this season despite Kane's departure.

But the club knows they need to sign a striker and as reported by the sunthat man could be Bournemouth star Solanke.

Solanke has been in excellent form for the Cherries this season, scoring 11 goals in the Premier League, including a hat-trick in their dramatic 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Spurs are also said to have had an interest in Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, but are said to believe Solanke is a 'better prospect'.

The club have been keeping tabs on Solanke all season, with scouts continuing to monitor him into the new year ahead of a potential summer move.

Bournemouth are reportedly preparing for bids from top Premier League sides given his excellent form this season.

Liverpool could benefit from any move for Solanke as they are thought to have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the striker's £24m sale in 2019.

Solanke has taken time to find his feet in the Premier League after struggling to make his mark at Chelsea and then Liverpool.

That struggle continued at Bournemouth, where he scored just four goals in his first full Premier League season with the club.

However, he scored 45 goals during two seasons in the Championship with the Cherries, and has scored more goals this season than last time (6) in the top flight.

Brighton striker Ferguson would likely be more expensive to buy as he is only 19 years old.

Ferguson is also under contract with the Seagulls until 2029, while Solanke has two years less on his contract.

Solanke's hat-trick last weekend means that only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have scored more goals in the Premier League this season.
