Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has revealed he wants to leave the club this summer for a new challenge.
The goalkeeper has been with Tottenham Hotspur since 2012 and still has a year to go, but Lloris stated that ‘it’s the end of an era’.
Tottenham, who finished the season with Ryan Mason as temporary captain, are looking for a new manager after a tumultuous campaign that saw them face several bosses and finish eighth in the Premier League.
Lloris feels this could be the right time for him to move on and test himself elsewhere.

‘I will calmly ask myself what is possible. But I don’t forget that I still have a year contract with Tottenham Hotspur and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.
“What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation, but I keep talking and doing my training. My goal is to be at the top in July, then we’ll see what the future has in store for me.’
Lloris missed the end of last season through injury, with his final appearance coming in Tottenham’s 6-1 defeat to Newcastle in which he conceded five goals in 21 minutes.
After starting his career at Nice, Lloris joined Lyon in 2008 and moved to Tottenham four years later.
He played 447 games for Tottenham and kept 151 clean sheets.

Lloris earned 145 caps for France before retiring internationally last year.
If Lloris were to leave, Tottenham would have even more work to do this summer, especially given the ongoing uncertainty over Harry Kane’s future at the club.
Fraser Forster filled in for the target during Lloris’ absence, but it seems likely a new stopper will need to be brought on when the 36-year-old leaves permanently.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been strongly linked to the managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur.
