Tottenham 3-4 Chelsea – PLAYER RATINGS: Which Spurs duo rated just 4/10 as they threw away 2-0 lead? And who created chances galore for the Blues?

Chelsea won the Premier League title with a bang after beating rival Tottenham from two goals down on Sunday evening.

Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski gave Spurs a comfortable lead after just eleven minutes, before Jadon Sancho crashed home to halve the deficit.

A rash challenge from Yves Bissouma then earned the Blues a penalty and Cole Palmer kept his cool to score the equalizer from twelve yards.

The turnaround was complete when Enzo Fernandez smashed inside the near post before Palmer converted his second penalty of the match with a cheeky Panenka.

There was still time for Son Heung-min to head home in stoppage time and set up a grandstand finish, but that proved to be too little and too late for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

TOTTENHAM (4-3-3)

Fraser Forster-5

He did his utmost to stop Chelsea from getting back into this after being unable to reach Sancho’s strike, but in the end there was no way to prevent Palmer’s two penalties or Fernandez’s explosion.

Pedro Porro – 5

He never looked comfortable as he tried to tie down the slippery Sancho, who got away from him for his goal and had his number with a cute pass in the build-up to Chelsea’s first penalty.

Cristian Romero – 5

We weren’t sure if Romero would be fit enough to start and his afternoon lasted less than 15 minutes when he was replaced by Dragusin, who was injured again.

Micky van de Ven – 5.5

There was a lot of cheering for him in his first start since October, but that could only be matched when he produced a real old-school defender. But just like Romero, he also left injured.

Lot Udogie – 5.5

We rarely saw Neto without Udogie, who auditioned to be his shadow here. It was a healthy battle from start to finish, but in the end Chelsea could not be denied victory.

Dejan Kulusevski – 6

Kulusevski’s finish as he slotted the ball into the bottom right corner from 20 yards was practically in slow motion after he created the chance by charging across the penalty area.

Yves Bissouma – 4

If you’re going to slide into the box, you want to make sure you get there first. But Bissouma took out Caicedo and conceded Palmer’s penalty.

Pape Matar Sarr – 4

Recklessness saw him crash into the back of Palmer in the penalty area and gift Chelsea their second penalty as the 4–2 defeat was confirmed. Postecoglou’s players let him down here.

Brennan Johnson – 5

Capitalized on Cucurella’s slip to charge forward and cross for Tottenham’s opener. But otherwise we never saw the best of Johnson, who was hooked after 53 minutes.

Dominic Solanke – 5.5

The right play from the striker to cross Colwill and make it 1-0, setting up a finish that not many would have achieved. Furthermore, too few opportunities were created for Solanke.

Heung-min-son – 4.5

Only when it was 2-2 did Sanchez have to beat and Chelsea had stopped playing due to some offside confusion, but the captain completely ruined the chance. Consolation goal in injury time.

SUBS

Radu Dragusin (for Romero 15) – 6

Crucial block to prevent Jackson from making it 2-2 before half time.

Timo Werner (for Johnson 53) – 5

Had the chance to come back to chase his old club but never did anything with it.

Archie Gray (for Van de Ven 79) – N/A

James Maddison (for Kulusevski 79) – N/A

Lucas Bergvall (for Bissouma 79) – N/A

MANAGER

Ange Postecoglou – 4.5

Tottenham led 2-0, but still lost 4-3. Postecoglou’s tactics will still be questioned as his team should have shown more control with their two-goal lead.

CHELSEA (4-2-3-1)

Robert Sánchez – 5.5

Solanke’s finish could not be stopped as it flew past him before he could even react, although he could have done better with Kulusevski’s attack and leaked a Son consolation late on.

Moises Caicedo – 7

He started as a right back, but after Chelsea’s half-time substitution he moved to the actual midfield. That moved him up enough to win the most obvious penalty you’ll ever see.

Benoit Badiashile – 6

An oddly naive moment from the man who had to replace the injured Wesley Fofana, but overall Chelsea got away with whatever defensive mistakes they made.

Levi Colwill – 6

He grew up near Chelsea. He knows what this rivalry means to the fans. Couldn’t get to Johnson’s cross before Solanke when Tottenham struck first, but the victory was ultimately his.

Marc Cucurella – 5.5

Both of Tottenham’s goals came as a result of Cucurella’s slip. Remarkably, the Spaniard inadvertently helped Spurs until he furiously changed his boots in the eleventh minute.

Romeo Lavia – 6.5

Warned about taking down Kulusevski to kill a counterattack, then took a drive-by elbow from the Swede, who escaped punishment. Lavia was therefore a concussion substitute.

Enzo Fernandez – 8

Worked with Lavia in the first half and then with Caicedo in the second half. And then, boom, he blasted the ball into the bottom corner: 3-2, a lead Chelsea would never lose.

Pedro Neto – 6.5

Tried to sneak the ball into the bottom corner for 2-2 but Forster saw it coming and stretched out a long leg to stop it. Always an electrical socket on the right.

Cole Palmer – 8.5

Cold. Ice cold. He scored one penalty when the pressure was on. Then he won another. What did he do this time? Panenka of course.

Jadon Sancho – 8

Pinned a goal off the post from 22 yards after bursting in and gave Porro nightmares as he created numerous chances, including before Chelsea’s first penalty.

Nicolas Jackson – 6

Gave Dragusin enough time to come back to block his explosion when he was outplayed and only Forster was left to beat. On this occasion the headlines were from his fellow attackers.

Chelsea fans love him, as evidenced by the way they chanted his name full-time. They were 2-0 down after a Cucurella slip, but came back. Title contenders? Why not?

Anthony Taylor – 6

Chelsea fans aren’t crazy about Taylor, but he gave them two penalties here – it helped that they were two obvious ones to give!
