A man has been charged with the attempted murder of an ex-UFC fighter, with police claiming he posed as a food delivery driver to get close enough to shoot.

Noah Touma, 20, was arrested at 4 a.m. Wednesday and charged with 10 charges, including shooting with intent to murder.

He was refused bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.

The bullets missed and Mokhtarian and the other 30 gym-goers were unharmed.

CCTV footage of the man was released by police in February as they investigated the incident at Top Team Gym on Wentworthville Avenue in Wentworthville, in Sydney’s west.

Officers were called to the property on February 20 after gunshots were reported.

Shortly afterwards, a burning scooter was found on Fulton Ave near Westmead Hospital, five minutes away from the scene of the shooting.

The fire was extinguished and the bicycle was taken as evidence.

No one was injured in either event.

Both crime scenes were investigated by Parramatta City Police and the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad. A 19-year-old was originally charged in connection with the alleged shooting and remains in court.

The 20-year-old man is charged with shooting with intent to murder and discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

More offenses include discharging firearms in or near public places, possessing ammunition without a license/permit/authorization and possessing an unauthorized pistol.

Other charges include: face blackened or disguised with intent to commit a criminal offence, transportation without the consent of the owner, unlawful possession of anything resembling a registration plate and two counts of driving a motor vehicle during the disqualification period.
