‘The bottom line’ is Hunter ADMITS the laptop is his: Top Republicans say they are not swayed by the tactics of Biden’s son’s lawyers, vowing to get to the bottom of the family’s ‘influence peddling’.
- Republicans James Comer, Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson spoke to DailyMail.com about Hunter Biden’s lawyer calling for DOJ investigations
- Attorney Abbe Lowell urged the department to investigate Giuliani and Bannon.
- The attorney also said the letter he sent to the Justice Department is not proof that the exploding laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden was his.
Republican lawmakers told DailyMail.com on Thursday that they are not fazed by the aggressive new strategy implemented by Hunter Biden’s legal team to combat a litany of investigations into his foreign dealings.
It comes after his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, wrote to the Justice Department calling for investigations into Rudy Giuliani and former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon, as well as former computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac.
Lowell accuses them of having “violated various Delaware laws by accessing, copying, manipulating and/or disseminating data from Mr. Biden’s personal computer” regarding the laptop’s hard drive at the center of a storm of controversy for President Joe Biden’s family.
Asked for his reaction on Thursday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told DailyMail.com Hunter Biden’s private lawyer seemed “very active” in defending the former drug addict.
He suggested that the letter, and others sent by Lowell to respond to his client’s inquiries, were a topic of discussion that morning between him and his committee’s general counsel.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told reporters that he has no plans to contact Hunter Biden’s team regarding their investigation.
Comer also told reporters that he has not had any contact with anyone on Hunter Biden’s side, noting that he does not plan to search for them.
‘Why would we? This is an investigation of Joe Biden’, said the president of Supervision. ‘This is limited research. We are investigating influence peddling in the Biden family.
“So what I’ve tried to do is be transparent, to the best of my ability with my limited ability here, that the bank records are what we’re interested in, because of the emails, texts, WhatsApp messages, and then the whistleblowers. who we have been communicating with who were involved in the Biden family orbit.
All those files were recovered from the hard drive of a laptop that supposedly belonged to the president’s son. Isaac has repeatedly recounted how he accessed the contents of Hunter Biden’s private laptop when it was left at his Delaware repair shop for water damage and never recovered.
President Biden’s only living son has been hit with multiple investigations into his foreign dealings.
Hunter Biden’s attorney, Lowell, later told CBS News that the letters sent “do not confirm accounts by Mac Isaac or others of an alleged laptop.”
But Senate Republicans told DailyMail.com they disagree.
‘It’s an admission that it really is Hunter Biden’s laptop, isn’t it?’ Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson said of the Justice Department letter.
“I’m not a lawyer, but I understand that custody of the law is that when he abandoned her, she was no longer his.”
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has warned law enforcement officials not to follow the recommendation.
“When Biden’s Justice Department is being widely criticized, and I think rightly so, for being too partisan and having double standards based on political objectives, it might not be the best idea in the world for the Justice Department to follow Biden’s options. impeachment of the president. own son who faces prosecution threats on multiple fronts,’ Cruz said.
