Top Republican warns Biden he’ll face subpoena for thousands of pseudonym emails – and an impeachment is ‘imminent’

Deputy James Comer, who is leading the Republican inquiry into Biden’s family finances, says an impeachment inquiry is “imminent” and that he will use a subpoena to get his hands on emails Joe Biden sent under a pseudonym when he was vice president.

The House Oversight Committee chairman is chasing allegations that Biden and his foreign connections were central to his son’s money-making efforts.

“Joe Biden’s role in this program for spreading family influence continues to grow daily,” Comer told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday.

“I mean, he was at the center of this.”

The White House insists Biden was never involved in son Hunter’s affairs and on Thursday dismissed Comer’s latest accusations as lies.

President Joe Biden's emails have raised even more questions

But recent revelations that Biden may have used a pseudonym in nearly 5,400 emails, electronic records and documents while he was vice president have given Republicans a new line of inquiry.

“I think there is now a consensus at our conference that we should conduct an impeachment inquiry,” Comer said.

“Obviously that’s Speaker McCarthy’s decision, but I feel like we’re here now.

“I have a feeling that’s imminent and I believe that will be a tool in our toolbox when we go to court with our subpoena.

‘Look, we’ve requested these documents. The House Oversight Committee has legislative jurisdiction over the National Archives.

“They stopped us from Biden mishandling classified documents. Now we hope they don’t stop us asking for a pseudonym.”

Republicans are divided on how hard to go after the Bidens.

In interviews, Comer has often exaggerated or mooted the findings of his investigation, leading some centrists in his own party to privately warn that an impeachment inquiry could backfire.

They are also concerned that it will widen the party political divide between the country, making it more difficult for Republicans to hold onto seats in areas that supported Biden in 2020.

Hunter also sent a message to Robin Ware (another of Biden's email pseudonyms) urging John McGrail to get a job in the Treasury Department's legal department.

However, the emails have given Comer additional ammunition.

Their existence was revealed after the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) issued a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for emails related to aliases allegedly used by Biden, including Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters and J. R. B. Ware.

At the time, the Obama administration dismissed criticism that the communications were “secret” because they were all archived.

But the sheer volume of emails raises questions about whether then-Vice President Biden broke the “absolute wall” he said he maintained between “the personal and the private, and the government.”

For his part, Comer added that the requests were all part of the investigation into whether Biden was directly involved in bribery and money laundering.

“We know that the president’s son laundered money,” he said.

“We’re investigating whether or not Joe Biden committed money laundering, but we’re pretty sure he committed some pretty serious offenses that I think will worry the entire Congress.”

The White House said Republicans should focus on issues that would improve the lives of Americans.

“Another day, another lie from James Comer,” said Ian Sams, White House spokesman for surveillance and investigations.

“Instead of making false allegations, knowing that he doesn’t have any evidence to back them up, maybe he should get back to reality and work with President Biden on issues that actually improve people’s lives, such as cutting costs, creating jobs or growing the economy. ‘

One concerning email from May 2016 referenced by Comer in a letter requesting more information, previously reported by DailyMail.com, shows that White House staffers tracked Joe’s schedule, including a phone call with then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, to Joe’s secret email ‘Robert L. Peters’. ‘

The associate, John Flynn, inexplicably also copied Hunter, who at the time worked for the allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma, in the email.

White House officials copied Hunter a total of ten emails to Joe’s alias addresses, data from his laptop show.

Joe and Hunter appeared to be using the then-Vice President’s classified email to discuss government affairs in another incident in June 2014.

Hunter used his Rosemont Seneca consulting email address to write to his father on June 23, 2014, regarding the appointment of then-Deputy White House Attorney John McGrail.

“Talk to me before you fill the position. J. McGrail would very much like to serve as a detail of the Treasury,” Hunter wrote.
