Top jockey and stunning model become Aussie sport’s newest ‘it’ couple ahead of the Melbourne Cup

  • Ben Allen has 696 career victories
  • Delainey Mary has signed a contract with Chadwick Models

Top jockey Ben Allen and model Delainey Mary have made their mark as the hottest new couple in Australian sport as they’ve been on and off the track together in recent weeks.

Mary – who is signed to prestigious agency Chadwick Models – lit up the red carpet with Allen at the Victorian Racing Awards in August as the pair hit the ground running on their romance.

She also posted an Instagram video of herself hugging him in heartfelt celebration as he won the hoop and scored a huge victory in the Memsie Stakes at Melbourne’s Caulfield circuit on August 31, captioning the post: ‘I’m SO proud of you!!! ! You’ll earn this ‘hunny’ with a series of red love heart emojis.

She has also said: ‘I love racing and I love everything from fashion to horses.’

The Memsie Stakes win was Allen’s second Group 1 victory as his career goes from strength to strength.

Mary and Allen met when she went to visit horses owned by her mother Melissa Rosich and stepfather, former Victoria Racing Club boss Steve Rosich, in Pakenham on Melbourne’s south-eastern edge.

The couple has been an item since they met several months ago, the Herald Sun reported, and Mary took center stage when Allen won the Tristarc Stakes on Lady in Pink at Caulfield last Saturday.

The couple then lived it up at the Osborne bar in South Yarra, and Mary introduced her boyfriend to her family, including her sister Lexi, who is engaged to Western Bulldogs AFL star Rory Lobb, the publication said.

Allen has previously revealed that he got into racing through his family.

β€œI was kind of born into it,” he said.

‘My father trains [horses]My brother was a jockey, so it was exactly what I always wanted to be growing up.

β€œFrom the moment I started riding track when I was 13 or 14, I just lived and breathed it.”

When asked what he likes most about being a jockey, he replied: ‘Celebrating the big wins because you have to work so hard to achieve them.

‘I haven’t won that many at the very top level, but I have been lucky enough to win quite a few Group 2 and 3 and I would like to celebrate that appropriately.’

Allen has been spinning for a while during the celebrations at the Osborne after winning the Tristarc Stakes, but he can’t pursue his musical hobby as much as he would like.

β€œI try not to do it that often because when I play I need a few drinks to loosen up and get comfortable there, which is obviously not ideal for my weight,” he said.
