A top Fox News executive was fired last week for violating “business conduct” after he allegedly sexually harassed a woman and stalked her, according to reports.
Former director John Finley, who worked at the network for more than 20 years, was accused of being “ruthless” in his stalking campaign. Mediaite.
Divorced Finely, 45, is accused of targeting the woman after working on several projects with Fox Nation, the streaming service he headed.
She was not an employee of the broadcaster and Fox hired a prestigious outside law firm to investigate and reached an undisclosed settlement with the woman.
A Fox spokesperson said: “FOX News Media and John Finley have parted ways after an independent investigation concluded that he violated certain standards of business conduct.”

He reportedly pursued romantic relationships with several subordinates during his time at the company, with a source telling Mediaite that he would get Tiffany pearl earrings for the girls.
Finley married a fellow Fox staffer before the couple split in 2021, with multiple sources claiming he would pursue romantic relationships with subordinates.
One of them told Mediaite that the woman claimed Finley “relentlessly stalked her and wouldn’t stop texting her” even though she “rejected him.”
He also reportedly took the woman out for dinners and bought her gifts, with sources claiming this was part of what was left after his dismissal last Friday.
The director, who was promoted to the top job at Fox Nation in 2019, is accused of “a relentless pattern of sexual harassment and quid pro quo.”
“I can get you this job if you have – incredible opportunities,” they said. “What if she went to New York and didn’t see him? Temper tantrums.’
Finley allegedly made promises of “big show promotions” to young female staffers and told them he would make them a “Fox News star,” despite having “little to no power to actually do that.”
He reportedly pursued romantic relationships with several subordinates during his time at the company, with a source telling Mediaite that he would get Tiffany pearl earrings for the girls.
The source added, “I noticed that there is a tendency that all women tend to get giant pearl earrings from him.
Finley married a fellow Fox staffer before the couple split in 2021, with multiple sources claiming he would pursue romantic relationships with subordinates.
“It was our big code of: Oh, she’ll probably get the same pearl earrings from John. She was promoted with no experience. She’s blonde. It looks like she’s from a sorority.
‘He buys all the girls the same gifts. It was like he was bored.”
Others say he violated Fox’s standards of business conduct, including conflict of interest, improper use of his position to benefit someone he influenced, and business ethics.
Erin Kormann, an attorney for Finley, told Mediaite, “Mr. Finley would like us to make it clear that he vehemently denies all allegations contained in the text you have sent, and that this is an attempt to discredit Mr. Finley and that he intends to pursue all his legal remedies at this time to put.’
Kormann did not immediately respond to a request for comment from DailyMail.com.
Finley was with Fox News from the beginning and was promoted to launch Fox Nation in 2019, despite Jason Klarman being named president in 2020.
He was also part of a misconduct investigation in 2011, but was cleared of any wrongdoing at the time, with the network citing a “lack of evidence.”
