Top dentist reveals the HUGE problem with Kanye West’s new titanium teeth – and exposes the real cost of his ‘850K’ jaws

A leading Australian dentist has revealed why Kanye West may seriously regret his bizarre titanium teeth makeover.

The 46-year-old rapper shocked fans on Wednesday after he debuted a set of Bond villain-esque titanium dentures on Instagram.

Kanye also claimed to have done that his teeth were removed and replaced with the device to create the new permanent look – which a source said self-designed.

But Dr. Sam Koh, a leading cosmetic dentist who owns it Dental boutique clinic, says Kanye’s new smile is cause for great concern.

According to Dr. Koh, Kanye may have difficulty cleaning his new mouthguard properly, which can lead to a host of problems, including infections.

“Although it has been reported that the dentist gave him customized equipment to clean his teeth, such a bulky one-piece device will be difficult to clean,” he explained.

‘Microscopically, a lot of food, bacteria and dirt will get underneath the titanium, which can then cause a lot of bad breath, sensitivity, tooth decay and gum problems such as disease and infection if the titanium is left in for long periods of time.’

Koh believes Kanye probably shaved his teeth off and glued the titanium dentures on top, rather than removing his teeth completely.

The remaining portion of the teeth will move over time, eroding the glue that holds the titanium in place.

This deterioration will create ‘microgaps’ where bacteria and decay can form over time.

“This would then lead to loosening of the bridge over time, or worse, tooth decay, infection and disease, where the bacteria can then enter the teeth,” he warned.

If left untreated, tooth decay can spread and cause serious illness, requiring Kanye to undergo multiple root canals due to dental infections and possibly even have all of his teeth removed.

Dr. Koh also fears that Kanye will have difficulty eating as the surfaces of his new mouthpiece are flat and bulky, making it difficult to tear and chew food.

“Cosmetically they also look quite bulky and can change his facial appearance and soft tissue structure as well as affect the way he talks, sings and raps,” he added.

Elsewhere, Dr Koh told Daily Mail Australia that Kanye’s teeth are unlikely to be worth $850,000, as previously reported.

“Practically and clinically, the titanium, the labor of both the dentist and the laboratory to make the ‘teeth’ would not cost nearly as much,” he said.

“It’s really hard to estimate something as unique as this, but if someone were to do something like this in Australia it might cost $100,000 AUD or less at most!”

Kanye is new The dentures were fitted by Dr. Thomas Connelly in Beverly Hills, along with Naoki Hayashi, Master Dental Technician.

Connelly told DailyMail.com last week: ‘It was a pleasure to work on every step of the process. His vision of designing unique art transcends dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic!’
