Karla Eggelton, CEO of Cook Islands Tourism, said: “This recognition comes as we continue to enhance our tourism offering and focus on innovative visitor initiatives and more authentic experiences.

“It also underscores the commitment of our tourism sector and local community to providing our visitors with unforgettable experiences.”

The Cook Islands welcomed a total of 163,552 visitors between June 2023 and July 2024, of which 2,533 were from the United Kingdom and the Nordic countries.

Andrew Stark, Managing Director of Flight Centre Global, said: ‘There were some surprising results which show that it’s not always the traditionally popular destinations that have something special to offer travellers.’
