Top Biden surrogate J.B. Pritzker says 2024 Iowa caucus is a choice between the MAGA agenda ‘wrapped in original packaging or with high heels or lifts in their boots’ in DeSantis dig

  • “Just a question if you like your MAGA Trump agenda wrapped in the original packaging, or with high heels or lifters in their boots,” Pritzker said
  • President Biden follows Trump, Haley and DeSantis in a theoretical showdown against each of them, according to a new CBS/YouGov poll

While all eyes are on the Republican candidates in Iowa on Monday evening, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is in the state to warn voters on behalf of the Biden campaign about their ‘MAGA Trump agenda’.

“Tonight’s contest is simply a matter of whether you like your MAGA Trump agenda wrapped in its original packaging, or with high heels or lifters in their boots,” Pritzker, a member of the Biden National Advisory Board, told reporters .

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has sparked national speculation about whether he wears lifts in his boots.

“Here we stand on MLK Jr. Day and this field of candidates embrace the ideas of Adolf Hitler and deny that the Civil War was about slavery, or about demonizing and disregarding the rights of large groups of Americans,” Pritzker told the crowd.

Pritzker, known as America’s richest elected official, is hosting the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this summer.

His reference to slavery was in reference to an event last month in which Haley did not mention slavery as the root cause of the Civil War.

“I think the cause of the Civil War was basically how the government would function, the freedom of what people could and couldn’t do,” Haley told a voter at a town hall in New Hampshire.

“I should have said slavery, but I think it’s a given that everyone associates the Civil War with slavery,” Haley told CNN weeks later.
