Tony Romo leaves fans split with passionate display in the booth for Broncos-Bills playoff showdown

Tony Romo’s unparalleled energy for playoff football had NFL fans divided Sunday as they tuned in to see the Broncos face the Bills in the Wild Card round.

Sunday’s playlist started in Buffalo with Jim Nantz and Romo on the phone, and Romo started the game as he intended to continue by shouting “Here we go Jim” on the first kick.

His unparalleled energy is popular with many fans but also irritates many others, and thousands were quick to voice their opinions about the NFL icon on social media.

About Tony Romo is insufferable. My god.’

Meanwhile, others praised his performances, with one fan branding him the ‘best analyst’ in football, while others enjoyed his passion for the sport.

Romo is a big fan of Josh Allen, and some were quick to point that out, joking that all the Bills QB had to do was “breathe” to elicit a strong response from the announcer.

The Nantz-Romo partnership was treated to a brilliant game in Western New York, with rookie quarterback Bo Nix throwing his first playoff touchdown on the game’s first drive.

The Bills battled back, thanks in part to the brilliance of Allen and running back James Cook, and the game was perfectly balanced at 10-7 Broncos going into halftime.

Sunday wasn’t the first time Romo has left fans divided over his actions in the booth, after he recently delivered a “haunting” rendition of The Lion King live on Thanksgiving.

Others claimed that Romo is “still the best analyst” in football and that they enjoy watching him

During the second quarter of the Lions game, Ford Field held its “Cub Cam” – a fan activity where parents in the crowd hoisted their babies up to recreate the iconic opening scene from the Disney classic.

After Nantz introduced the practice, Romo could be heard singing an incredibly racy rendition of the “Circle of Life” – the overture to the 1994 animated film composed by Elton John and famed composer Hans Zimmer.

Not only was the 44-year-old out of tune, he was also nowhere near singing the correct lyrics, which incorporate Zulu, a language native to South Africa.

The melodic rendition caught the attention of NFL fans, who derided it on social media as “the worst.”
