Tony Khan confirms Jack Perry has been suspended indefinitely over Wembley confrontation that led to CM Punk being released from AEW

All Elite Wrestling president Tony Khan has confirmed that Jack Perry has been suspended for his part in the confrontation that led to CM Punk’s departure from the company.
CM Punk was released after a week-long investigation into the altercation that took place at the All In event at Wembley.
Perry said during his undercard match on the show, “It’s real glass, cry me a river” after a spot where a car’s windshield was pointed directly at the camera.
It referred to an argument he had with Punk a few weeks ago about using glass in a segment on weekly TV.
This led to a confrontation between the pair just before Punk took to the ring for his match with Samoa Joe in the first match of the main card.

During the AEW All Out post-show media scrum on Sunday, Khan confirmed that Perry had been suspended indefinitely, following uncertainty over whether he had been disciplined.
“He has been suspended indefinitely,” Khan said. “I think we suspended everyone in that investigation and then took further action based on what happened and emerged from the investigation.
“As for Jack, we suspended Jack as a participant in a backstage incident, and Jack has not been there. That’s all I can say about it. We suspended him at the time and he hasn’t been with AEW since AEW All backstage in London.”
Punk’s altercation with the 26-year-old wasn’t his first while under contract with AEW.
He was previously suspended after a physical altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at All Out in September 2022.
New reports also claim he had a run-in with William Regal last year when he refused to shake his hand, said he didn’t like or trust him and accused him of being a “straw man” for WWE legend Triple H.
Khan took to Twitter to announce his decision to release Punk, calling it one of the toughest of his career.
He said, “Today I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my professional career. Today I terminated Phil Brooks, CM Punk, for good reason,” he said.

“This stems from a backstage incident at AEW All In last Sunday. The incident was regrettable and endangered people backstage. The same goes for the production staff, the people who help put on the show every week, innocent people who have nothing to do with it.’
He continued to reveal that he felt his life was in danger on the London show, the first time he felt this during his wrestling days.
“I’ve been going to wrestling shows for over thirty years. I’ve been producing them on this network for almost four years,” he continued.
“In all that time I never felt, until last Sunday, that my safety, my safety, my life was in danger on a wrestling show.
“I don’t think anyone should feel that way at work, I don’t think the people I work with should feel that way, and I had a really hard choice to make today.
“It came on the recommendation of a Discipline Committee here at AEW, as well as an outside legal counsel, who issued a unanimous opinion, and I followed that recommendation.”
