Tony Bellew was relieved to hear Everton had climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after meeting his wife Rachael for a brief reunion in the I'm a Celebrity jungle.

The former WBC cruiserweight title holder features in ITV's latest series I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, which takes place in Australia, but was given an update on Everton's recent positive form.

Bellew is a self-confessed Toffees supporter, hailing from Liverpool and always wanting to keep up to date with the results of his team from the blue half of the city.

During his time in the celebrity jungle, Bellew was excluded from the goings-on of the outside world, but he got some precious moments with his wife during the show's most recent episode.

The 41-year-old has so far clashed with other contestants, including Nigel Farage, during his time on the ITV hit series and was visibly emotional as he saw his wife for the first time since joining the show.

Bellew was surprised when he was led to a quiet part of the film camp when he turned the corner and saw his partner waiting for him.

“The kids miss you,” Rachael said to Bellew after the couple hugged.

“I've spoken to your mother and your father and they're all made up and they're all very proud of you.

“Oh Everton won,” she added. 'Really and truly?' replied a surprised-looking Bellew.

“Yes, they're out of the relegation zone, Corey told me to tell you that. They beat Newcastle 3-0,” she added.

Everton slipped into the Premier League relegation zone as Bellew took his place on the show for the first time, with the club deducted 10 points for breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.

However, they have since bounced back with their emphatic 3-0 win over Newcastle, temporarily lifting them out of the drop zone.

His wife was thrilled to share the news with her husband as the pair spent a brief moment together, with Bellew breaking down in tears as he also heard news from his children.

Bellew is one of the final four contestants on the celebrity show, along with fellow contestants Josie Gibson, Sam Thompson and Farage.

Meanwhile, Everton will hope they will still be above the relegation zone when Sean Dyche's side host Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday.
