Tony Adams will terrify Arsenal fans on Saturday night when he dresses up as a red devil for Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween special.

The former footballer, 56, will transform into the mascot of fierce rivals, Man United, for his quickstep dance with partner Katya Jones, the mirror reports.

Adams played for Arsenal and England and captained both teams. He spent his entire 19-year playing career as a central defender at Arsenal, playing a total of 672 games.

In keeping with his costume, Tony – who twice turned down the offer to sign for Man United – and Katya will dance to The Devil Went Down to Georgia by The Charlie Daniels Band.

Prior to the spooky show, Tony also has to fight bats at his home in Gloucestershire.

He told the publication: ‘We get quite a few bats in the house. We live in the countryside, sometimes they come into the house and that scares me.’

It comes after earlier this week Tony risked the ire of BBC bosses for apparently breaking advertising rules.

The football legend may find himself in hot water after being spotted wearing two items from his own clothing collection during Saturday’s live show – a violation of the broadcaster’s strict advertising guidelines.

In a VT prior to his performance with pro partner Katya, 33, Tony wore a blue shirt and a white T-shirt from his Tony Adams collection – featuring a logo featuring his number 6 shirt number from his days playing for Arsenal.

The logo shows the celebration of his goal after scoring against Everton in 1998 in Arsenal’s 4-0 defeat to the rival club.

And while Tony didn’t purposely promote the brand during the clip, he still failed to hide the logo.

A source told The sun: ‘Tony wasn’t clear about the rules. He thought he was doing no wrong.

‘He just danced in clothes he feels comfortable in, which happened to belong to his collection.

“Strictly bosses are going to talk to him and make sure he’s in line with their rules for this weekend’s show.”

MailOnline has reached out to Tony and Strictly representatives for comment.

On Saturday’s final live show, Tony and Katya landed at the bottom of the standings by just 19 points after their Cha Cha to the grandstand’s theme number.

Prior to the routine, Tony joked that they would get a “big stand ovation.”

His dreams were thwarted, however, when Craig exclaimed, “It actually reminded me of a scene from Death Becomes Her where Meryl Streep falls down the stairs and comes back with her head upside down, honey, I’ve never seen anything. like that!’

Tony’s routine also left Chief Judge Shirley speechless with his missteps when she added, “You’re a ray of sunshine, but below the knee it’s just raining.”

It comes after Tony revealed he had a tense “team talk” with his professional partner Katya before they spoke up last Saturday.

The footballer admitted he became “frightened” during the dress rehearsal just hours before the live show, and worried about being able to perform, before Katya shared some stern “home truths” with him.

Katya’s strong words paid off as she and Tony achieved their highest score to date, with the judges praising their American Smooth as a tribute to those who helped the athlete through his personal struggles.

On Tuesday’s episode of It Takes Two, Tony told host Rylan Clark, “I was terrified beforehand. We had a team conversation.

‘She [Katya] came into my dressing room after our dress rehearsal and told me a few truths about my reluctance.

“I think she admits it could have gone either way. I could have thrown my toys out of the pram and gone home.

“But I fought the fear and just went for it.”
