Toni Kroos took a cheeky swipe at his former Real Madrid teammate Eden Hazard on Wednesday, claiming the £400,000-a-week star was ‘letting his career die’ at the Bernabeu.
The LaLiga giants, who signed Hazard from Chelsea in 2019 for £88 million, ended the Belgian’s dismal four-year spell in Madrid and opted to tear up his contract early last week.
After failing to impress in the Spanish capital, Hazard is now reportedly considering retiring at the age of 32, having already put an end to his international career in the wake of the miserable 2022 World Cup campaign in Belgium.
Kroos, who has won three LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies during his nine-year spell at Real Madrid, appeared to be referencing the Belgium flop as he fired a warning at Jude Bellingham after his stunning six-year move to the Bernabeu was confirmed on Wednesday .

While he is “positive” about the arrival of the England international, Kroos warned that a big-money contract “has already killed their careers” at Real Madrid.
