Toni Kroos SLAMS Real Madrid flop Eden Hazard after Jude Bellingham arrival

Toni Kroos targets £400,000 a week Real Madrid flop Eden Hazard for ‘came for big money and let his career die’, while midfielder Jude Bellingham warns of £113m for his big move

Toni Kroos took a cheeky swipe at his former Real Madrid teammate Eden Hazard on Wednesday, claiming the £400,000-a-week star was ‘letting his career die’ at the Bernabeu.

The LaLiga giants, who signed Hazard from Chelsea in 2019 for £88 million, ended the Belgian’s dismal four-year spell in Madrid and opted to tear up his contract early last week.

After failing to impress in the Spanish capital, Hazard is now reportedly considering retiring at the age of 32, having already put an end to his international career in the wake of the miserable 2022 World Cup campaign in Belgium.

Kroos, who has won three LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies during his nine-year spell at Real Madrid, appeared to be referencing the Belgium flop as he fired a warning at Jude Bellingham after his stunning six-year move to the Bernabeu was confirmed on Wednesday .

It is clear that Bellingham’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund will guarantee the Bundesliga giants £88.5 million – a fee similar to the amount Madrid paid for Hazard in 2019 – but will rise to £113.5 million after the midfielder has completed a viable series of performance-related additions. us.

While he is “positive” about the arrival of the England international, Kroos warned that a big-money contract “has already killed their careers” at Real Madrid.

“We had another player who came in for a lot of money and basically let his career die,” he insisted on his podcast Einfach mal Luppen.

“It was a lot of money, I think everyone would say it wasn’t a good transfer. But let’s be positive.’

During his four injury-plagued seasons at the Bernabeu, Hazard scored just seven goals in 76 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Bellingham will be unveiled on Thursday at a presentation ceremony in Madrid and then face the media.

After the move was confirmed, Bellingham was quickly welcomed to the club by Real star Vinicius Jr who tweeted: ‘Welcome to the best team in the world, @BellinghamJude.’

The 19-year-old – who is seen as a complete midfielder – moved from Birmingham to Borussia Dortmund in 2020 aged 16.

Bellingham is therefore used to living abroad and his family has already started the process to ensure that he will settle in Madrid.
