Tones and I trapped in Parliament House following performance: ‘My phone’s going to die soon’
Tones and I will not soon forget her visit to Parliament House on Monday.
The singer, born Toni Watson, was stuck in the green room after her performance – and to make matters worse, her phone battery was about to die.
The Dance Monkey hitmaker shared a humorous video on Instagram, outlining her woes, but she appeared to keep her sense of humor.
‘What am I doing in Parliament House? Rubbing elbows. To shoot. Catching up with some old school friends. Taking pictures,” she began.
‘Rubbing elbows with Albo. You know, catching up with the Liberals and Labor. The Democrats. Whatever. That’s what I’m doing.’

She continued, “Anyway, I think they forgot I’m here. My thing finished two hours ago and I’m just sitting in the green room. I need to be escorted out, but that’s okay.
‘My phone will be broken soon. So if no one hears from me, I’m in the green room. I think they’re all going home.’
The award-winning singer showed off her trim pins in a miniskirt and bright red stockings as she wowed fans with her hits.
She completed her stylish look with a white button-up shirt and a long gray blazer.
Tones let her long blonde locks out for the concert and opted for a natural makeup palette.

It comes after the singer recently opened up about the ongoing body-shaming in the music industry at the start of her career.
The Australian singer shared a candid post on Instagram on Wednesday, admitting that she had faced many setbacks in her career as she announced the release of her new album.
Tones revealed how people in the music industry and the public told her she would never make it because she wasn’t pretty enough.
Sharing a clip from filming her new music video, she wrote: “POV: You used to wear prosthetics to hide your face when the world told you you weren’t pretty enough for the industry.”

‘Now we realize that that doesn’t help anyone. Not you or the queens who need you.”
In the caption, she also explained how she had to “fight tooth and nail into a position” she wanted to achieve.
“I never really openly address how this industry (including the public) has failed me, until now, as I continued to work tooth and nail into a position that I statistically deserved, but which the first glance was always substandard. attack,” she wrote.
“I remained calm amidst the hate, threats and body shaming and continued to keep my head down and find my happiness in human interactions.
Tones and I recently wowed fans by sharing her remarkable body transformation on social media. She is pictured on the left in 2021, and on the right earlier this month
‘I sing about dreams, but have never added any insight into how to achieve yours. That is my fault and honestly it was purely based on my lack of confidence in the weight my words would carry,” she continued.
‘For a long time I was a ‘song’ and not a person, and for many people I still am. That’s fine by me, but for the people who care, I have more to give, which I always have, but you just didn’t want to see it.”
Tones ended: ‘So my name is Tones, my album is just beautiful, it’s coming out on August 2nd! it’s nice to meet you.. again.’
