Tones and I shares moving message to fans following devastating onstage miscarriage

Australian singer Tones and I have shared a heartwarming relationship update, days after she revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage.

Tones and I, real name Toni Watson, shared incredibly personal details on Instagram on Tuesday about the loss that happened ahead of her Melbourne show on November 9.

And after an outpouring of love and support from friends, family and followers, Tones took to social media again on Thursday to give everyone an update on how she and husband Jimmy Bedford are doing.

The Dance Monkey hitmaker shared a video of the couple happily cuddling for the camera as the bittersweet strains of Grover Washington Jr and Bill Withers’ Just The Two Of Us played over the clip.

In her caption, Tones was quick to thank friends and fans for all their kind messages of support.

“Jimmy is not a social media guy,” she wrote. “But thank you to everyone who shared kind words or messaged us.”

Tones assured fans that she and Jimmy were doing well following the heartbreaking news.

“We are doing well and things will happen as they are meant to,” she wrote.

“Thank you for saving space for us. We love you. Now go enjoy your weekend, silly kids.”

The love in the post was reciprocated by followers, with one writing: ‘The most kind and genuine people I have ever met, I love you and hope you are doing well.’

Another chimed in, thanking Tones for her very public display of vulnerability.

“Thank you for being so respectful in sharing this with your fans,” the fan wrote.

‘Just by seeing you with my daughters at a meet and greet in Frankston, I know you will be an incredible, inspiring and loving mother one day.

“My girls still talk about how nice you were and pray we see you at the stores one day.”

Tones revealed on Tuesday that the tragedy occurred on stage during the final dress rehearsals of her show in Melbourne on November 9, in front of ’30 choir, 30 dancers and 50 crew’.

‘I was at the point in the show where I just hit the big note in ‘to be loves’, the first song from my latest album, when I hit the big note I felt the blood rushing down my legs, usually an uncomfortable but manageable situation especially since this was a rehearsal and not a show, except… I was nine weeks pregnant,” she wrote.

‘I was almost 100% sure I was having a miscarriage the night before the biggest show of my career.

‘[Husband] Jimmy [Bedford] and I left rehearsals and we got to the hospital at 8:30 p.m. The pain started to kick in and after not sleeping that night I was told I was having a miscarriage.

‘I was told around 11am on the day of the show that the show would not be possible and that I would have to stay indoors and rest. I will in no way tolerate going against the doctor’s advice, but I would be lying if I did’ I don’t go straight to the creative team, the production crew, the dancers, the choir, the FANS.

‘I knew I couldn’t possibly let everyone down. So I promised I would come back and I left. I arrive at Rod Laver just in time for my meet & greets and the end of the sound check and the show.

‘Off stage felt like a blur, but as soon as I stepped on stage I felt carried, it was unlike any show I have ever performed, I was lifted on and off stage by my family who knew nothing, I told three people that evening and let everyone else’s energy carry me through this moment, while I also don’t want to let this show pass me by.’

She then revealed that she received further medical care after the show.

“We are okay and things will be as they are meant to be,” she continued. “Thank you for saving space for us. We love you. Now go away and enjoy your weekend, crazy kids

‘After the show I went back to the hospital where the surgery was completed the next morning.’

Fans and celebrities alike took to the comments section of the post to wish the hitmaker well.

‘Thank you for always being a bright spot for so many. I’m incredibly sorry for your loss. Sending so much love,” Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause wrote.

“I am so sorry for your loss and I commend your strength, vulnerability, passion and love at one of the greatest moments of life and career,” Casey Donovan added.

Tones and I surprised fans when she announced last March that she had married Bedford in a secret ceremony in Bali.

Tones announced her engagement to Jimmy in January 2021.

The singer shared a photo of the pair kissing as she raised her hand to show off her diamond ring.

In her caption, Tones simply added a ring emoji and tagged Jimmy, whom she had been dating for two years.

Jimmy – nicknamed ‘Bedders’ – is a former bricklayer and player for the Victorian AFL team, the Frankston Bombers, who now follows the Dance Monkey hitmaker around the world on tour, as her stage technician.
