Tommy Fury vs Darren Till is OFF: Former Love Island star quits bout with ex-UFC fighter over fears he would get ‘kicked in the head’… as furious rival claims father John Fury ‘is not answering phone calls’

  • Tommy Fury was expected to face former UFC star Darren Till in the ring next year
  • Former Love Island star has claimed Till is unwilling to play by the rules of boxing
  • Till hit back at Fury for the withdrawal and sent a series of new insults his way

Tommy Fury has pulled out of his expected showdown with Darren Till, claiming the former UFC welterweight title challenger refuses to ‘abide by the rules of professional boxing’.

The pair, who were due to meet at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester on January 18, had exchanged insults, with Till claiming he had kicked the younger Fury brother in the head.

This threat appears to have caused Fury, whose last fight was a unanimous victory against YouTuber boxer KSI last October, to withdraw from the bout.

“For the one simple reason that Darren has stated time and time again that he does not want to follow professional boxing rules and that if he loses the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.” The 25-year-old wrote on Instagram.

‘I’m a professional boxer, I’ve been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I wasted weeks at training camp. We are working hard to find a new opponent and date.

“I promise I will get a better opponent and fight better for you. Good news around the corner.’

Till responded quickly to Fury, targeting both his father John and him after the withdrawal

John Fury was seen throwing water in the former UFC star’s direction during the pre-fight press conference last month.

The outspoken Till was quick to respond when Fury – the younger brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson – called him and father John ‘s**thouses’ and insisted he didn’t need to give any ‘kicks’ to win the match.

“I sold the fight to get you and me more money, you absolute airhead, fighting family, my a** you and your dad s**thouses,” Till wrote on the spark went out, you divided, we made money on this fight because I wasn’t you.

“I was building it, you should fight and thank me. Over and out…nobody wants to fight me…Jake Paul, what are you up to, you fat dummy?”

During a heated pre-fight press conference last month, Till had exchanged insults with Fury before his father John was seen throwing water in the former UFC fighter’s direction.

However, it had limited effect, leaving Tommy soaked by his father, but it still enraged Till, who was seen trying to attack the 59-year-old.

The Liverpudlian was held back by security guards, with John showing no signs of backing down as he tried to confront his son’s opponent after taking off his jacket.

Until then, it seemed like they were continuing their clash on social media after publishing John Fury’s phone number.

The 31-year-old posted a mobile phone number to his followers on X, formerly Twitter, and added the message ‘Thanks John Fury’.

Until he finally deleted his post, which had been viewed more than 10,000 times, but fans were quick to respond and question the validity of the number.

Till’s social media post came a day after he vowed to ‘terrorize’ him [John Fury] and his entire family” ahead of his Jan. 18 fight with Tommy.

“I’ve never seen the Furys get fucked like that, the Furys get bullied,” Till reflected on the chaos at the press conference on The Ariel Helwani Show.

You can’t call someone crazy who just walked to the press conference and didn’t hold anyone down [John Fury] back. I had 10 security hold me back. What has he done? Nothing.

‘I’m going to terrorize him and his entire family for the next nine weeks. Nobody’s going to do anything about it.

“I wanted the face-off. No one stopped John Fury. He could have done something on the spot. So at the end of the day, mate, they were terrorized.”
