Fans have taken to social media to mock Tommy Fury’s football skills after his blundering performance at Soccer Aid.

Twelve months after being mocked online for his performance in the annual charity match, the cruiserweight boxer returned to Mauricio Pochettino’s World XI side.

Introduced as a first-half substitute in the Stamford Bridge clash and deployed on the right wing, it’s fair to say Fury wasn’t as at home on the pitch as he was in the ring.

The 25-year-old tried to beat England’s Mo Farah on the edge of the penalty area, but his attempt to take the ball past his man resulted in a miskick that prompted a hilarious reaction from Pochettino and Roy Keane in the dugout .

Then it appeared that on an ensuing throw-in, the undefeated fighter tried to roll the ball into play under his arms.

After the fish out of water performance, fans were left wondering how much experience Fury had leading up to the match.

One fan wrote: ‘Tommy Fury just did a forearm throw. Absolutely angry that he is not following the rules of football.’

Another said: “Tommy Fury throws in a forearm. I don’t know why he keeps getting invited back.”

Another fan added: ‘I always thought Lee Mack was the worst player to grace the #SoccerAid pitch but now it’s Tommy Fury. Throwing in a forearm and kicking the grass funny to watch and hoping it stays put.’

Joe Cole put England ahead with a vintage finish at Stamford Bridge before his former Lille teammate Eden Hazard responded with a free-kick for the visitors.

Alessandro Del Piero gave World XI the lead shortly afterwards, but Ellen White equalized to become the first woman ever to score a goal at Soccer Aid.
