Tommy Fury hints he has ALREADY reunited with Molly-Mae Hague – after revealing the real reason they split

Tommy Fury has hinted he has already reunited with his ex Molly-Mae Haag following their shock split last summer.

In an emotional interview of Men’s health the boxer explained his plans for the new year, including “being the right partner.”

In the chat he also revealed how he became dependent on alcohol after a boxing injury and admitted his mental health was ‘in the pan’ – which was the real reason they split.

He has been the subject of several reports that he has cheated on Molly-Mae – with whom he shares daughter Bambi – but has firmly denied this.

He hinted that he has already reunited with Molly-Mae, telling the publication: ‘This year is about being thoughtful. It’s about being kind. It’s about being the right partner, it’s about being a good partner.

‘It’s about being there more, about making sacrifices, about taking the right time to see the right people, about doing the right things.

“That’s what I want to do this year, besides my work life.”

In recent weeks Tommy has been seen leaving her home in Cheshire and the pair were seen kissing at a New Year’s Eve party.

On Wednesday, Tommy finally explained the reasons why he and fiancée Molly-Mae split.

In the emotional Men’s health interview carefully timed days before Molly-Mae’s long-awaited documentary was released, he became dependent on alcohol after a boxing injury and admitted his mental health was ‘in the pan’.

Amid rumors that their August 2024 split was a publicity stunt, Tommy spoke candidly about his mental health battle and insisted he never cheated on Molly-Mae – calling the rumors about other women ‘complete and utter nonsense’ .

“The reason why Molly and I broke up was because I became addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner I wanted to be anymore,” he admitted.

‘It pains me to say it, [but] It’s true, I couldn’t. I liked a beer, liked to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our cross to bear. I have mine to bear.”

Tommy explained how his problems started when he underwent reconstructive surgery in January 2024 after breaking all the ligaments in his hand in 2019.

Tommy explained how his problems started when he underwent reconstructive surgery in January 2024 after breaking all the ligaments in his hand in 2019.

He stated that his “mental health was in the pan” during his recovery from surgery, which came off the back of “the best year I’ve ever had” in 2023, during which both his career and his life with Molly flourished.

The couple – who came second on reality TV show Love Island season five in 2019 – got engaged in 2023, months after welcoming their daughter Bambi.

Tommy explained how a huge part of his identity was taken from him when he could no longer train and said his diet and fitness were the first things he let go of before turning to alcohol.

‘I only lived for training and for my family, and all that was taken away from me. So what I did for fun is I started drinking quite a lot. I noticed that it made me feel better,” he said, adding, “I wanted the endorphins that I would get when I finished a good session, when I finished sparring, when I finished fighting.”

He admitted that he went out most nights and drank to “get drunk,” and said he replaced his intense training camp schedule with “smashing Guinness left and center and shots would pop up later in the night.”

Tommy’s relationship soon began to suffer, but he has maintained that he never cheated on Molly and also maintained his close bond with his daughter Bambi during the dark period.

Over the past year, Tommy has been photographed enjoying rowdy evenings with his friends, including a weekend in Budapest where he was pictured with a former Miss Hungary.

He was also caught at an event at the Hungarian Opera House with another brunette woman during the same drunken trip. The trip is said to have contributed to their split.

“Cheating was never a thing,” Tommy insisted. ‘You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the booze, and the booze is not a good thing. You have to get a grip on it.

“If you’re in the same situation as me, where you think it’s going to solve all your problems, it won’t. You wake up feeling worse and you want to drink more to feel happy again. That’s the cycle of it.’

Molly-Mae, who was filmed kissing her ex on New Year’s Eve, is now said to be thinking about what Tommy would have to do to make their relationship work.

The mother’s conditions would include a ban on partying and being more concerned with family life rather than focusing on his boxing matches.

Molly-Mae announced her shock split from Tommy, also 25, in August, five years after they met on ITV reality dating show Love Island.

But friends say Molly-Mae has ‘continued to love Tommy’ and is considering a romantic way forward with the professional athlete.

It’s claimed that Molly-Mae and Tommy’s reunion will be the focus of her new Prime TV show, Behind it All, which will also document their emotional breakup.

The first three episodes of the show will launch worldwide exclusively on Prime Video on January 17, with the final three episodes set to release in spring 2025.

Molly is in the public eye for the show this week, amid claims she and Tommy have been on a string of secret dates.

Their romantic reunion will be featured on the show as they continue filming new scenes for the next batch of episodes, which will be released in the spring.

The Love Island stars have faced backlash as their split was branded a ‘publicity stunt’ by fans.

A TV insider has said that Molly and Tommy’s rocky relationship will come ‘full circle’ during the series, which could encourage even more fans to tune in.

A source said The sun: “The timing of them getting back together couldn’t be more convenient as their romance will come full circle as fans watch the documentary.

‘There was already great interest in the program, even before the events of the past week. But now there will probably be even more people watching.

‘The trailer seemed to suggest that there will be a lot of details about the stress Molly went through during their high-profile breakup, but there was no hint whatsoever that they would get back together.

“That means that the makers of the documentary – which is still being filmed – were either surprised by the reunion or had to keep the documentary top secret for a while.”

Fans of Molly-Mae have been quick to label the split as a ‘PR tool’, claiming the ‘stunt’ helped further Tommy’s book and documentary as well as Molly-Mae’s clothing line.

MailOnline contacted Molly-Mae’s representative, who declined to comment.
