Elton John, Tom Hanks, Jools Holland and Paul McCartney joined David Hockney at his immersive art exhibition in London this week.

The entire group posed for a snapshot at Bigger & Closer (not smaller and farther away) in Lightroom, which Jools shared on his Instagram account.

He wrote: ‘Great art accompanied by the great artists of life, could not be better. David Hockney’s dazzling spectacle, ‘Bigger and Closer (not Smaller and Farther)’ @_lightroomldn is wonderful.’

David sat at the front of the group looking sharp in a checked suit, shirt, tie and matching hat.

Fans were quick to comment on the image of the large group that he had managed to assemble for the exhibition.

One said: ‘This is a great band in the making!’ while another said: ‘This is a very impressive line-up and each a master in their respective fields!’

A third wrote: ‘Now that’s a picture and a moment!’ as Top Boy star Kano wrote: ‘Show that properly!’

Someone else said: ‘Iconic’, while another quipped: ‘What a picture! (Who are those guys next to Jools?!’

Elton, 75, showed off his signature style in his classic Gucci pants, tinted sunglasses and a sleek light blue jacket.

Meanwhile, Paul, 80, and Jools, 65, wore smart black suits, while Tom, 66, was at the back of the group in a navy jumper.

Tom has been in London for several days and was recently seen at the Aston Villa vs Arsenal game on Saturday.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through 60 years of his art through large-scale projection.

He previously said: ‘The world is very, very beautiful if you look at it, but most people don’t look at it very much.

“They scan the ground in front of them so they can walk, they don’t really look at things incredibly well, intensely. Yeah.’

David has indulged in his lifelong fascination with new media for the immersive experience, which encourages people to take a closer look at his art.

Mia Regan, Myleene Klass and Keith Lemon were among the famous faces in attendance at the exhibition’s opening press night last Tuesday.
