Tom Daley is set to be offered a knighthood after announcing his retirement from diving on Monday.

Daley, 30, ended his glittering career after winning his fifth Olympic medal in Paris: silver in the 10-metre synchronised event, alongside Noah Williams.

He also won gold and bronze in the synchro competitions in 2021 and 2016 respectively, and bronze medals in the individual competition in 2012 and 2021.

According to The TimesDaley will now be rewarded for his exceptional achievement with a knighthood, should he decide to accept the honour.
