Tom Cruise lands his film crew new jobs on the set of Rick Astley’s latest music video after they struggled for work Hollywood strikes

Tom Cruise got his film crew new jobs filming Rick Astley’s new music video during the constant acting strikes in Hollywood.

The Top Gun actor, 61, and his crew took a break from filming the latest Mission: Impossible movie, which was originally set to be released next June.

Acting and filming strikes prevented the filming of a key action scene, and the release date of the second installment of MI: Dead Reckoning was pushed back.

In order to keep his film crew at work during the negotiations, Tom has now given them temporary jobs in the production of Rick Astley’s new music video Forever and More.

Said a film insider Sun: ‘Tom has worked with several of them on many films, so he wanted to be loyal and help out in difficult times.

“After talking to Simon and the label, he has to go through them all and work on the video.”

‘Rick is delighted about it because they have high standards and could produce something extraordinary.’

Tom’s cast joined the shoot, which took place on Monday at a secret location in the UK.

“I bet you’ve always wanted Rick Astley and Simon Pegg to team up and do something special.” So we have!’ Pegg said in a video taken on set.

Dead Reckoning Part 2 is a direct sequel to Part 1, which was released earlier this year, and stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, as well as Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby and Esai Morales.

It comes after it was claimed that due to the ongoing strike by Hollywood actors, next year’s film releases could be pushed back to 2025.

The three-month SAG-AFTRA strike continues after talks between the actors and the studio broke down last week, after the writers’ strike recently reached an agreement.

And now it is claimed that the ongoing project shutdown strikes could also affect the 2023 Christmas TV and 2024 film releases.

Entertainment reporter Stephanie Ali spoke about the actors’ strike during an appearance on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday, where she addressed potential delays.

She said the 2023/24 TV season may not be “salvageable” due to the breakdown in talks and added that the action could affect Hollywood’s 2023 Christmas schedule.

Stefani also claimed that the film’s 2024 releases could be pushed back to 2025 amid projects stalled by the ongoing strikes, which began in July.

When asked if Christmas TV would be affected, she said: “Probably yes! There was hope that if they could get the actors back from the strike by the end of this month, we might be able to salvage some of the 2023/2024 television season as well as some upcoming film releases.

“But now, with the studios walking away from negotiations, it looks like we may not be able to salvage any television seasons, and the 2024 releases may end up being pushed to 2025.”

She also claimed that SAG-AFTRA actors are “concerned” that they don’t see as many big names in Hollywood “vocally campaigning for a strike as the big-name showrunners did on the writers’ side.”

Actors seen on the picket lines in recent days include Jessica Chastain, Jack Black, Jennifer Coolidge and Edward James Olmos, among others.
