Tom Cruise flies through the friendly skies again.

The A-list actor, 60, was photographed at Naples Airport in Florida in recent days taking a small plane he owns on a flight as he prepares to begin production on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.

Cruise was photographed at the airport on Tuesday donning a light blue shirt with black jeans as he prepared for a flight in his P-51 Mustang.

He wore shaggy brown locks and looked fit on the spring day at the airport.

Cruise was spotted climbing onto the plane — which had his name written on the side — and wore sunglasses and an aviation headset for the weekend outing.

Cruise incorporated the vintage plane into his smash hit summer sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, last year.

The planes had been used during World War II, as the plane Cruise owned was believed to have been built in 1946. The sun reported.

The actor was seen before he started production on the film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, in which he will reprise his role of Ethan Hunt.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson and Vanessa Kirby and is expected to hit theaters in June 2024.

Cruise is also gearing up to promote the first installment, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which will hit theaters in July.

Known for his own stunts, Cruise initially developed his passion for flying during the production of his 1986 blockbuster film Top Gun.

The action star initially received his license in 1994 and is said to own two additional planes, the outlet reported.

Top Gun: Maverick hit theaters last May and grossed $1.49 billion, including $718 million in domestic revenue, according to Box office Mojo.

The film won one Academy Award for Best Sound out of six nominations earlier this year.

It was also nominated for Best Achievement in Film Editing, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song) for Lady Gaga and BloodPop’s Hold My Hand, Best Achievement in Visual Effects, Best Picture of the Year, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Cruise made headlines earlier this year when he didn’t attend the Oscars, after failing to receive individual acting nominations for his work in the well-received sequel.

Jay Ellis, the actor’s costar, called Cruise “the last great movie star” in an interview with The Sun.

“Tom is one of a kind,” Ellis said. ‘He’s done it all. I think people sleep on Tom. But people need to know he’s the last great movie star.”

Ellis noted that ‘what people forget is that [Cruise’s] body of work is very extensive’, as ‘he’s done every genre; there’s character, plot, action, everything – and he succeeded.’

Ellis continued, “His ability to not just act organically and use the camera while acting organically on camera is a masterclass.

“There aren’t many people there, no one who can do it like him. He’s the nicest, most sincere and open-hearted man.’
