Tom Brady’s ex-teammate Drew Bledsoe hilariously roasts NFL legend over Fox broadcast debut – months after Gisele Bundchen divorce joke

Former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe had already delivered his verdict on Tom Brady’s NFL debut before it even started.

Brady, 47, begins his $375 million contract as a Fox analyst this season after taking a well-deserved year off last year following his second retirement from the NFL.

Bledsoe, who Brady replaced as Bill Belichick’s starter more than two decades ago, made a flattering, if not hilarious, prediction about how the Hall of Famer would fare in real life.

“I know Tommy’s going to work really hard for it,” Bledsoe said when asked on Good Morning Football about Brady’s upcoming first season as an NFL commentator.

However, the former quarterback couldn’t resist taking a sly dig at his former teammate.

“I’m getting a little tired of his squeaky voice, but I’m sure he’ll do a great job of covering the games,” Bledsoe joked.

Bledsoe also compared the seven-time Super Bowl winner to iconic NFL analysts of the past and present, such as Tony Romo.

“It’s the people who do the work who are good at it, and it’s as simple as that,” he added.

“You look at Aikman. You look at Romo. I mean, everybody looks at Romo like he’s a predictor of the future. Well, he went to practice and he saw what they did with that formation and that’s what they did.”

Bledsoe’s disparaging comment about Brady comes five months after he joined a slew of former players, comedians and celebrities in the Netflix roast of Brady.

Much of the brutal material included jokes about his divorce from 43-year-old Gisele Bundchen after 13 years of marriage, including one year with Bledsoe.

Bledsoe, who has faced criticism over the quarterback who would replace him in New England, strongly opposed the split.

“You’ve obviously gotten used to not being touched, bro,” Bledsoe said, referring to Brady’s football career.

Then he added, “Just like the end of a marriage.”

The joke prompted loud cheers from the Kia Forum crowd, as an uncomfortable Brady raised his eyebrows and took two different drinks.

Brady and Bundchen, who have two children together, son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, divorced on October 28, 2022 after 13 years of marriage.

According to PeopleBundchen was furious about jokes about her and Brady’s previous marriage during the special, saying she was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful way her family was portrayed on Sunday night’s roast show.”

‘As always, [Bundchen’s] “The most important thing is to support her children who have been affected by the irresponsible content that has been broadcast,” the insider continued.

Brady is expected to earn $37.5 million a year as part of his broadcast contract with Fox.

The deal lasts for 10 years and should earn him at least $375 million.

And his return to his old familiar surroundings and those of Bledsoe was apparently confirmed last week.

During last Thursday night’s preseason game in Foxborough, Scott Zolak spoke with Jason and Devin McCourty about Brady and hinted that another home game could be on the cards in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
