Tom Brady says he understands why NFL fans ‘get p***ed off’ while watching it on TV every week as he adjusts to life in retirement

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has said he finally understands the frustrations of watching football every week as a fan.

While talking about his “Let’s Go!” podcast Brady said he “understands why normal fans get angry” when watching on television.

“There’s so much more context when you watch (and) you have this TV and they’re showing every replay. You don’t see any of that on the field. You see everything on the ground floor,” Brady said.

‘I think if you’re a fan, you obviously see a lot and hear a lot. The commentators say a lot. You’ve got the score there, you’ve got the timeouts listed, everything is there for you. That’s not necessarily true if you’re a player. You just are, you’re in the moment.’

Brady has played games every week for the past 23 years instead of watching from his bench, before retiring for good in February of this year.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion will join FOX as their top NFL analyst, but he is currently taking at least a year off to let his retirement sink in and prepare for his new gig.

‘I’m taking it all in. I’m actually trying to listen a little bit from the broadcaster’s point of view and what they call the game, you know, paying more attention to, I would say, the broadcast element of it, the pageantry of it, rather than, I would say , the nuances and the technicalities of the game,” Brady said.

Brady also took time to praise injured Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during Tuesday’s episode of his podcast.

“He’s pretty determined to come back and I really appreciate that about Aaron. I think some guys use injuries as an excuse not to play,” Brady said.

“The inspiring thing for me when I see a guy like that is that he shows you the love for the game that he has. He doesn’t want to miss anything for his teammates. I had that feeling. I know all the major competitors want to be there every week.”
