Tom Brady is branded a LIAR by a former New England Patriots teammate… and here’s why

One of Tom Brady’s former teammates expressed skepticism about the Hall of Famer’s ability to expand his arsenal, even calling him a liar.

While Brady expressed his admiration for Patrick Mahomes’ playing style during an appearance on the Pivot podcast, he also indicated how he would do things differently if he were to start his NFL career over again.

However, former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria, who now hosts WEEI 93.7 in Boston, expressed doubt about the statement.

“I think Brady is a liar,” Fauria said breezily on his radio show.

“When I heard it, I thought, ‘Who is he kidding? He can’t change. He can’t downshift. This is not who he is. He’s not wired like Mahomes.'”

Flauria played in the NFL from 1995 to 2007, including a stint with the Patriots from 2002 to 2005. The retired tight end contributed to two of Brady’s early Super Bowl titles.

Brady would go on to win seven Super Bowl titles, including one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before hanging up his football boots. After a storied career on the field, Brady will join FOX Sports as an NFL analyst with Kevin Burkhardt on a 10-year, $357 million contract.

“I saw him having a great time, I heard him laughing and joking,” Fauria continued.

“But when it came down to the game, you could see it on certain passes, or when he won a game or got a first down.

“He’s so happy, he’s celebrating like a little kid, but the reality is he’s just wired differently than Mahomes. Everything about him is different.”

On the other hand, Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to two consecutive titles and three championships in the last five years. The quarterback was crowned Super Bowl MVP in all three of their victories.

Despite beating out Mahomes for his final ring in 2021, Brady had plenty of praise for the Chiefs quarterback.

“When I see these young players, I see Patrick out there at quarterback, running around, smiling, having fun,” Brady said. “I think, ‘I used to be like that. What the hell happened?’

“I just got too serious, but again, all I can do is look back and think,” Brady said. “OK, if I do it again, which I’ll never do again, I’d be different. But the reality is, I can’t.”
